South Mountain Memory Care is a memory care community located in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, just outside Allentown in the Lehigh Valley. The facility is dedicated exclusively to memory care and employs staff specially trained for individuals with cognitive impairment.

The community is built on the Small House Model, a design philosophy emphasizing small, intimate environments that promote a sense of home and connectedness. The facility features spacious private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, abundant natural light to help with sleep disorders and seasonal depression, distinct neighborhood colors to aid wayfinding, and small gathering spaces for residents who feel overwhelmed by larger crowds. The intimate layout minimizes overstimulation and is complemented by consistent staffing assignments to foster familiarity and individualized care.

Safety and comfort are central to the community's design. The facility includes restricted window openings and secure garden fences, while clear pathways reduce stress during personal care. The smaller population and carefully designed environment create a safe setting where residents can feel secure and supported in maintaining independence.

Activity programming is designed by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and encompasses physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual engagement. The community offers freshly prepared meal options with an always-available menu, incorporating vegetables grown in the Garden Club throughout the summer into seasonal offerings.

South Mountain Memory Care is locally owned and operated and serves residents from surrounding areas including Bethlehem, the greater Lehigh Valley, Bucks County, and communities as far as Scranton and Philadelphia, with convenient access from major routes including I-78 and PA Route 476.
