After spending some 7 weeks in hospital with Necrotizing facitis and having large skin grafts over 14 surgeries, I decided to rehab at home with the support of my caregiver and Providence. The nurses were all very good and highly skilled. Support staff like OT and PT were also very good. They do need to tighten up some aspects of their scheduling, but I would recommend Providence to anyone. A solid overall 9/10 review for the agency. The nurses? Get a 10/10 !

I’m surprised at some of the low ratings. We’ve had the best nurses and various others on staff to see my mom every week to check on her status. They make recommendations to ensure her health and safety are priority. I am impressed with the patience and kindness from each one. We are grateful that this is available for those that have difficulty getting to an appointment. Thank you! ❤️

My experience with this home health agency was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The biggest issues were unreliable scheduling, poor communication, lack of follow-through on supplies, and low standard of care. Scheduling was especially difficult. They do not provide any modern communication through text, email, or a patient portal. Based on my experience, appointments were handled by unscheduled phone calls, often with no notice or mechanism for reply if missed. At one point in time I had received a phone call from the provider far past normal business hours regarding an appointment the next day. On another instance, when I previously agreed on a visit date with the nurse, I later learned that the visit was never scheduled. The way I learned it was not scheduled was the nurse did not show up an hour past our previously agreed time. They directed me to call their scheduling office as I was told by the nurse that they do not have autonomy over their own schedule. Unfortunately, the office was unreachable by phone as they did not answer after repeat attempts at contacting them by their publicly listed phone number. One particularly upsetting instance involved a wound vacuum (NPWT) dressing change, which was the primary task of our home health nurse. I was directed to take prescribed pain medication (Oxycodone), and remove dressing from my leg in anticipation of the nurse’s arrival. We waited until 30min past the scheduled time, with the dressing removed per instruction, and shortly learned the nurse was not coming. I called the nurse and was told I was not scheduled, even though we had agreed on an exact visit time and date just three days earlier. Supply management was also poor. I was told that special wound care supplies had been ordered to my home, but they never arrived. My husband and I ended up purchasing several professional medical supplies ourselves, including Adaptic, Cavilon, and lidocaine, because the provider acknowledged the supplies were not sufficient for my care. I also had concerns about the standard of care during my wound vac dressing changes. During the first dressing change, the nurse cut the sponge into a diamond shape even though my wound was round. At the time, I did not know enough to recognize the issue, but part of the sponge ended up sitting on healthy skin rather than just in the wound bed. This caused wound maceration and caused further injury. The surrounding skin became red, inflamed, blistered, and extremely painful. At the next dressing change, I called my surgeon so she could coach the nurse in real time on how to apply the wound vac correctly, since they had previously macerated my wound. The process remained far more painful than it needed to be after that, because of the further injury resulting from the nurse’s malpractice. My husband and I had to advocate heavily, ask questions, research options, and suggest ways to make the dressing tolerable. We had to meticulously review procedures and work provided not only to ensure the wound care was meeting a basic standard of care, but also to ensure it did not cause further medical injury from malpractice or negligence. Overall, this experience added unnecessary stress, pain, and confusion during an already vulnerable recovery period. I would not recommend this agency for anyone. The standard of care is provided by this business is low based on my experience.

I was Director of Home Care and Hospice for this organization 10 years ago and now when my mom needs Home Care/PT 20 minutes away from your office and was coldly notified after 3 different referral requests that they cannot provide services in Shelton. It's completely unethical to state that you provide services to an area when YOU CLEARLY DO NOT! What a total and complete shock to see the decline in the religious organization!

Worst place ever for services, had a broken tibia, went home, had services, they didn't do much, get out of bed, walk a few feet, back to bed, call to schedule for the next morning at 6 pm, wouldn't show or show up late, if I had another appointment like neurologist for epilepsy would count as a missed appointment Went home they were supposed to call set up sessions at home. It's been 2 weeks, no call I'm now 12 weeks post op, wanted to go to an outpatient, they have to discharge me first, who knows when that will be because the lady takes a message and no one ever calls back, so I'm stuck with no pt, because I can't get a hold of them to even come or discharge me
