BEWARE! Administration/Management staff is unprofessional, rude, manipulative, and non truth tellers! If you bring up concerns they either don't respond or ghost your emails/voice messages. Would NOT recommend sending your parent to Pioneer Golden Estates EVER! BTW, some of the 5 star reviews are from these very untrustworthy people....admin/management.

[Updated] My wife’s family found Pioneer looking for a place to help us care for my mother-in-law. The administration and staff are caring, competent, available and friendly. They treat the residents with kindness and grace. They do even the difficult tasks with a smile day after day. It’s easy to see how much they care about both the residents and each other. All you have to do is watch. It’s literally a culture of caring. The building and grounds are beautiful, clean and well-maintained. 6 months later when I needed help with my parents I had so much respect for and trust in the staff at Pioneer that I put my parents there as well. We’ve known the staff for almost 2 years now. They have helped us deal with long term care insurance, medication side effects, psychotic episodes and have partnered with us so our parents can live their best lives. This is where I want my children to put me if I need help. Highly recommend! Update: My parents lived at Pioneer for the past 3 years, my mother-in-law for almost 4 years. All 3 of them passed away in the past 10 months. The care that they received from the staff at Pioneer both in assisted living and in memory care was so much better than anything we could have done on our own, including as the staff used their experience and skill to keep our parents comfortable during their last days. They taught me how to interact with my mom when she no longer knew who I was and was living in a different reality. They teamed up with hospice and helped me understand what I was seeing and what to expect as my parents passed away. While I was staying in the room with my dad during his last days the staff would come in to care for him, then turn to me to see if I needed anything. Every staff member, every shift, every time. I felt like they had time for me even in the midst of caring for many others. In my mother-in-law’s last days, they had 2 people actively dying and one who passed away unexpectedly. I would never have known it if I hadn’t looked and figured out what was happening around us. They always treated us with care and kindness, no matter how difficult their day had been. When I would talk with friends, I would sometimes hear stories about their loved ones experiencing theft and rough handling at assisted living and rehab facilities. I realized that those things never crossed my mind with our parents at Pioneer. When mom was in memory care she took off her wedding ring. The staff found it under her bed. They simply put it in a bag and walked it over to dad. In nursing training, it’s sometimes recommended that they not become emotionally attached to the residents/patients. The goal is to help them maintain a professional relationship and even to help them survive emotionally. But they’re also human. And many of them do this because of caregiving experiences they had with family members where they found that this is almost like a calling for them. They do this because they care. But because they care, they also hurt. You won’t see it as they care for your loved one with a smile. But if you look carefully, every once in a while, you will catch a glimpse of the pain they carry in their eyes. So whether your loved one is at Pioneer or another facility, make sure that you look their caregivers in the eye and thank each of them, every shift, every time.

Have been waiting 3 months to move my parents in after given a room number. Moved them up from Florida after being told a week or two but definitely by August 1st. No call. Never return calls or emails. Wonder how they care for residents if they can’t respond to family.
