I stayed at Penrose Harbor for rehabilitation following back surgery. The facility was almost brand new. The private rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was marvelous. Everyone was caring and considerate. The physical therapy was just the right intensity and I was able to go home in about a week. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of rehabilitation services.

I was at Penrose for just over 2 weeks after I had spinal surgery. I just could not have had better care during that time. Staff members went above and beyond in terms of facilitating my rehabilitation in a caring, giving atmosphere. With Covid restrictions in place, I could not have visits from family or friends. Staff members filled that void and when I was discharged, I felt like I was leaving family.

This facility is lovely and the whole staff is supportive, knowledgeable, and caring. I was thankful every day that Penrose Harbor was available to me after a significant leg injury. During my 10 week stay, I was treated by a physician, 24-7 nursing staff, and highly trained aides. In addition, I received comprehensive PT and OT therapy. The selection and preparation of meals was incredible.

I was in horrific shape when I arrived. The staff was phenomenal. The Nurses and CNAS were the kindest and most helpful staff. They kept my spirits up for the 83 days I was there. The activities center was great keeping me entertained. I always looked forward to going there. Her attention to detail was wonderful. The PT and OT staff were diligent in pushing me to succeed in walking and to be able to go home with ease . They were beyond exceptional . They supported me every step of the way. The facility is beautiful and extremely taken care of with daily cleaning and sanitizing. The food was quite good. This is why I rated it 5 Stars.

Our latest interlude with Penrose staff was rehab following transmetatarsal amputation of right foot. My overly conservative surgeon ensured I received the full Medicare allotment of 100 days of skilled nursing. During that time I interacted with most of the RNs and CNAs assigned to the skilled nursing section. Other daily engagements were with OT and PT specialists and weekly reviews with medical director who is also my PCP. As I progressed from wheelchair to walker, everyone was cheerful and supportive. Nurse Joe erected a bird-feeder outside my window which provided entertainment throughout the day - 10 species seen. Dining services were good and special requests cheerfully provided. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no visitors were allowed, but family could come to my window for face-to-face interaction. If you need nursing care, this is the best option in Gig Harbor.
