I'll start with the positive. My aunt had been staying at Parkwood just shy of 3 years. She really perked up when she moved in. She partook of a few of the activities and some of the residents had been long time, life long friends. The medical care was excellent here. They really looked after her and was attentive and on top of any issue. The food, however, was subpar, and she would tell us about that - from lack of fresh vegetabels and for some reason, they were always out of lettuce. ?? The house keeping could have been so much better, no matter how stubborn she was. She recently passed away, and the residents were invited to her celebration of life as were staff members. Come to find out, the residents were not informed of the memorial service as was specifically requested and transportation was not made available. We believe that my aunt's friends would've have liked the opportunity to say goodbye and pay respects to her, but that was taken away. We gave this facility 3 stars but that was because of the great medical care, however, we would not recommend this place at this price point.

I moved my mother into the beautiful & professionally managed Parkwood Village in February, which was fraught with emotions for both of us considering she's 89 years young, independent & used to helping others, not receiving help. Sharon Hill, Director, was very patient in answering all my questions during several phone calls, and after moving my mom into her apartment, continued to check on how she was adjusting. I can't say enough good things about the staff. The care & nursing staff members came around to introduce themselves & patiently listened to health information provided to them; the maintenance men quickly & warmly responded to any issues; and the kitchen staff went over and above to provide meals based on her dietary restrictions. Fast forward to June, and she's doing great, has adjusted well to her new environment, keeps busy with her own activities or those scheduled, visits daily with other residents, and still remains independent under the watchful monitoring of the staff. As her daughter, I have peace of mind that she is in a wonderful, caring & friendly place. I don't have to worry. Im notified of any changes, & receive emails of Parkwood news & events. In summary, I recommend Parkwood Village to anyone contemplating a move for themselves or their loved one. Sincerely, Sonya Wilson

We moved my dad into Parkwood the end of September as a quick response to a medical situation as we all live out of state. IMMEDIATELY we knew this was the best place for my dad. For Spring Break this year I decided to spend a day in the life of my dad. I sprayed with him in his apartment for 5 nights. The staff welcomed me into their community with open arms, as did the residents. I can’t even begin to communicate how blessed I am by the dedication of every single person on staff at Parkwood. This is truly an amazing community and quickly becoming an extended family. My dad is so happy there and remains active and engaged but they also are very aware of his medical needs and care. I just can’t thank everyone at Parkwood enough for the commitment not only to my dad and every resident, but to your passion and dedication to aging with grace and dignity. I knew in September we found a home for a dad, but I am blown away at the extent everyone goes to truly making it a family. Spending this week with my dad at Parkwood will forever be one of my greatest blessings. Thank you so much for setting the bar very high!

This is an assisted living and memory care facility. Activities, family style dining, transportation to appointments. The assisted living areas are very nice don't know what the memory care looks like, but they customize care for each individual , using their interests and history.
