Newark Senior Center

Newark Senior Center is a day program and activity center for adults age 50 and older in Newark, Delaware. Located at 200 White Chapel Drive, it is the first and only senior center in Delaware nationally accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers, offering daily programs, supervised fitness and pool access, trips, meals, and social activities.

The center provides a full calendar of classes, clubs, games, and special events designed to keep members active and engaged. Members have access to a supervised fitness center, exercise classes, and pool facilities in a supportive environment without the pressure of a traditional gym. For those experiencing early memory changes, the weekday Meeting of Minds program offers structured engagement in a safe, understanding setting.

Transportation services help members across Newark and nearby communities reach the center, appointments, and shopping. The facility also coordinates Meals on Wheels for the City of Newark and provides volunteer-prepared and delivered meals to homebound older adults in the greater Newark area. Support groups and resources are available for caregivers of individuals with memory changes or health needs.

The center is conveniently accessible near Interstate 95, Route 273, Route 4, and Marrows Road. Membership is open to anyone age 50 and older and includes access to the full range of daily programming, social activities, fitness facilities, and services offered throughout the week.
