My Aunt went there at 5:30 Pm on July 2nd my parents and I got there after 7:00Pm her bed was not made, not even a bottom sheet NOTHING. There was not even a chair in the room for her to sit on. She was in the same brief she left Wellspan in standing at the nurses station. We talked with a nice young girl who said she would keep trying to make her feel at home. My Aunt was scared and confused. I left in tears at the condition of this unit and her bathroom, for $16,000 a month I put her in a hole. But I thought it would get better. It's just been a few hours.
Friday July 3rd we arrived with some personal items, we were greeted getting off the elevator with “you need to get her out of here.” I said “why” the head nurse said “ she keeps trying to leave and did manage to get to the lobby.” Are you kidding me, with a code on the elevator?” she said “I am sorry but she does not want to be here.” I said “everyone that comes wants to be here? That's what you need to do, make her want to be here.” She was in the SAME CLOTHING, SAME brief with poop on the bed. Again where is she going to sit with poop on a bed and no chair. Her lunch tray was in the room untouched.
I witnessed the nurse helping with the shower complaining the entire time about how she “does not shower residents” and “it’s not her job anymore”. She was scrubbing her private area when the nurse called it “digging” not washing... “DIGGING!?!?" while washing privates.
So they call 911 for combative patient. 911 comes and takes her back to Wellspan.
She was charged $475 for less than 24 hours of horrendous care. When we wrote a letter to them describing our experience and asking for an itemized bill we were met with the same generic bill and our letter returned to us without a response.
