Montpelier Senior Activity Center

Montpelier Senior Activity Center (MSAC) in Montpelier, Vermont is a community gathering place for adults 50 and older in Central Vermont. It is not a residential care facility but rather a senior center offering programs and services designed to enhance quality of life through physical, mental, cultural, social, and economic well-being.

The center's core programming consists of more than 75 affordable weekly classes covering movement, humanities, art, and technology. Class offerings include line dancing, film appreciation, language instruction, pastel painting, pilates, yoga, and technology courses, with costs ranging from $2 to $10 per class depending on session length. Drop-in activities such as Mahjongg, Scrabble, crafting, ukulele, and chess are also available, and membership is not required to participate in drop-in classes.

MSAC operates the FEAST Meal Program, affiliated with Meals on Wheels, which provides healthy meals to older adults in the community. A meal is served every Tuesday at noon and is open to all; for those over 60, the suggested donation is $10 with a guarantee that no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

The center partners with numerous community organizations to provide valuable information and services to members. Programming is flexible and accommodates various needs, including virtual ZOOM options for those unable to attend in-person activities.
