The Stone family has been involved in area elderly communities for the past 3 decades. When they saw the opportunity to purchase a distressed facility in West Toledo, they accepted the challenge to revitalize an area while being able to follow their passion to provide quality care to area senior citizens. I have been at Merit house for a year and a half. Things were good and bad. Now they're just bad. A large corporation bought them and everything has gotten cheaper. Food has gotten worse. I'm seriously thinking about looking into other options. They've doubled and tripled people's workloads and people are leaving by the droves

it may not be the fanciest building in Toledo, but the care was very good! I work for a hospice organization, and we brought a patient here for a respite. We love our clients, and this was our first experience doing business in this building. The staff from the administration on down were excellent to work with. Navigating a respite stay in a new community is more challenging than it sounds. It involves contracts, meetings, and paperwork galore… Everyone from Cathy to Kim Made that process easy. The entire time the client was here for respite staff were attentive, kind, and she looked great. She had a wonderful time, she was engaged, had access to activities, and I am pretty sure the DON spoiled her a bit. it was a great experience for my team, the client, and the family was happy as well.

My uncle is currently there now as we are in the process of getting him moved to a different facility, the two nurses that I’ve met have been very nice and sweet. As far as the building itself and how it’s ran is very poorly and unprofessional, I would not send anyone here if at all possible!!

The aides don’t care the call lights be on for hours then shift change and the new aid has no idea. They stole $300 cash when my loved one first came because she didn’t know to lock it up. The food is inedible and they let you lay for hours without turning you to prevent bed sores. Some of the nurses was nice but that’s it, I really feel sorry for people that has to come here and live for the rest of they’re lives smh
