My loved one, who has since passed away, was previously a resident at this nursing home. Looking back on his time there, I remain deeply disappointed by the conditions and level of care I observed. Cleanliness was a major concern. There were frequent unpleasant odors throughout the facility, and the overall appearance of the building often seemed dirty and poorly maintained. The environment did not feel clean, comfortable, or welcoming for residents and visitors. During my visits, I was also bitten several times by what appeared to be insects while sitting in his room. This added to my concerns about the facility’s cleanliness and upkeep. One of my biggest concerns was his personal care. On numerous visits, I found him severely soaked in urine, with clothing and bedding that needed immediate attention. It was heartbreaking to see him in that condition. No resident should be left sitting in urine, and basic hygiene needs should be addressed promptly and consistently. I was also concerned that he was almost always in bed when I visited. It seemed that he spent very little time out of bed, which raised concerns for me about his overall care, activity level, and quality of life. I became increasingly concerned about whether he was receiving adequate assistance with meals. On several occasions, I arrived to find his meal tray sitting untouched on the bedside table, positioned out of his reach. He was unable to access his food without assistance, and seeing meals left where he could not reach them was extremely upsetting. As a result, I often planned my visits around mealtimes so I could make sure he was able to eat. I was also concerned about staffing. Staff often appeared overwhelmed, and when I raised concerns about his hygiene and need to be changed, I sometimes felt that my concerns were treated as an inconvenience rather than a priority. Residents deserve compassionate, respectful care and to be treated with dignity at all times. Based on what I personally witnessed during his stay, I believe significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, staffing, resident hygiene, meal assistance, and overall quality of care. I would not recommend this facility based on my experience.
