The Ranch at Marbridge

Marbridge Ranch is an assisted living community in Manchaca, Texas, serving up to 94 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The community provides a structured environment with 24-hour awake staff, nursing care, and support services including verbal prompting, side-by-side training, and intermittent hands-on assistance for daily living activities.

The Ranch maintains a staff-to-resident ratio of approximately 1:12 and includes an in-house rehabilitation team and registered dietitian. Residents live in either shared dorm rooms or shared lodge suites, each furnished with a bed, nightstand, and dresser, with encouragement to personalize their spaces. The community is designed with natural and ambient lighting and includes sensory-friendly spaces for those who need calming environments while remaining actively engaged.

Programming centers on the T&E model emphasizing training, education, experience, and employment opportunities. Residents participate in a tri-semester schedule of classes, activities, and outings, including Special Olympics participation and both on-campus and off-campus social events. The community operates community centers including a chapel, enrichment center, swimming pool, and state-of-the-art athletic facility and wellness center available during scheduled times.

Admission is intended for adults with developmental or cognitive disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and Williams syndrome, who demonstrate consistent independence in activities of daily living and the ability to follow a structured schedule. Prospective residents are reviewed individually to determine program appropriateness, with consideration given to their ability to function successfully in a community setting free from aggressive or serious unmanaged psychiatric conditions.

Dining services include three meals and a snack daily prepared by a registered dietitian, with accommodation for gluten-free, low-carbohydrate, and diabetic diet plans. Residents may participate in cooking training but are not permitted to keep food in their rooms. The community supports resident autonomy in making informed choices about daily life and encourages participation in leisure, recreational, and vocational activities.
