I bring my therapy dog Sophie for monthly visits to Maluhia adult day care and long-term care. At both locations, the staff are always so kind and they treat each resident with care and dignity. Sophie and I instantly feel welcomed here as well. The residents (most importantly) are clearly loved, and their individual needs are gently and patiently tended to. Employees work together and help one another. I love our visits to Maluhia.

I recently entrusted my dad's care to Maluhia care home services, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. From the moment we walked in, I felt a sense of reassurance that my dad was in good hands. In just a short amount of time, I've already seen remarkable progress in his health, which speaks volumes about the quality of care provided. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate both my dad's needs and mine, making us feel like a part of their extended family. It's incredibly comforting to know that my dad is not only receiving excellent care but is also surrounded by individuals who genuinely care about his well-being. Having Maluhia care for my dad feels like having a team of loving aunties helping me every step of the way. It's truly a blessing to have found such a wonderful place where my dad is not just a patient, but a cherished member of their community.

My first experience with Maluhia was in Oct 2020 when my mother's existing day care program of 3+ years was no longer able to care for her given her combative and wandering behavior. I was shocked to find out how few facilities would even consider taking in my mother and felt I may need to resign from work to care for her. I reached out to the State's Eldercare Services, the local chapter of Alzheimer's Association, asking for help. Why was there no laws and associated funding in place to help care facilities staff up and train for commonly known challenges among those with dementia? One alternative offered was placing Mom in a care home. Thankfully Mom's Kaiser geriatric doctor notified me that Maluhia had recently re-opened after being closed due to Covid. I met a very caring and professional team of people with a genuine heart for our kupuna. Thankfully they were willing to work closely with Mom's geriatric case manager and doctor on transitioning Mom into their program. Their comprehensive approach to assessing the individual entering their program is very thorough from the medical aspect, physical, mental and social aspect is impressive as their team made sure my mom was a good fit and would thrive at Maluhia. Now my father is attending their day program. Sandy who oversees the CNAs is thorough and, by her leadership, her staff knows each participant and their interaction is positive and personable. The program's social worker Sanford gave Dad a purpose which was to look after the Center's plants, an interest my Dad has. This made all the difference for my father. From their nurse Reika to their activities person Natasha, they are all great. The facility is clean, bright and welcoming. Stacy, the program's director, closely oversees all aspects of this program and is a pleasure to work with. Thanks to Maluhia, our parents are able to stay at home and thrive. Our family is very thankful to the entire team at Maluhia Adult Day Health program!

Too early to say, but comparing previous facility Maluhia is better. Nurses are more friendly and quickly responds when we ask for help. I love that fct there is TV in the room, DVD/CD player connected. I brought in CD music to play while I am visit patient. I was impressed to see another patient in hallway and they provided TV in the hallway for her.
