This review is as the daughter of a patient that was admitted into this facility by his insurance - Optum. My dad is a very healthy, active and lucid 84 year old man who goes to the gym daily. He recently had a total knee replacement and our family thought it would be best to have him recover and receive therapy in a facility with professionals. My dad was admitted into Lynwood post acute care center on a Thursday at 4:45ish and was calling me at 5:30pm to come get him. He said the facility looked dirty! I called the facility and spoke to a couple different people. One of them, Eli, explained how their cleaning staff had already gone home but that they clean and pick up daily although deep cleanings are only done ONCE A MONTH!!! this is a medical facility for goodness sake, that gets deep cleaned once a month. When I went to pick up my dad the bedside trash basket had not been emptied from the previous patient and the trash basket had beer cans in it. During the few hours my dad was there, his “roommates” were SMOKING!!!! I don’t even want to think about if the bedding was even changed prior to my dad being admitted. It is clear that staff is overwhelmed and that has caused lack of empathy and care. One of the roommates was a bully and was refusing to move his wheelchair in order for my dad to get into the bathroom. When I asked a staff member that was standing in the hall for help, he said we should push the call button. The whole experience, short as it may have been, was completely traumatic. If your loved one is in a healthy mental state, this is not an adequate facility.
