This is a true family living environment. Care staff is exceptional. Home cooking. Lots of quality activities. Residents follow established routines limiting down time. Staff is attentive to each resident from administration to housekeeping... no resident is ever ignored. Therapy department continues to philosophy incorporating mind and body into the rich faith and spirit of the "one of a kind" home for the bayou area's aging population.

The administration staff are nice people, however they lack the skills and desire to hold the caregivers, nurses, and aids accountable for doing their jobs. The residents are not cared for and are often neglected. They employ nurses and aids that have acquired many complaints, unfortunately the leadership choose to sweep the known issues under a rug and the elderly suffer. My mother was a resident there on February , 28 2017 ... Mardi Gras Day. That night, a nurse called me and said "you should come to stay with your mother because we are understaffed and we cannot tend to her". The next morning, I admitted my mother to the hospital and she did not live to be discharged from the hospital. My mother died on March 5th, 2017 ... one day after her 86th birthday. My mother was not receiving proper oxygen. Over and over, I found her with low oxygen levels. Once, I asked a nurse to check her oxygen and their equipment was broken and could not give a reading. Then the nurse got rude with me in front of the nursing supervisor and my mother and that supervisor did not repremand her. The administration allows the aids and nurses to ignore and possibly abuse the elder. I blame the Administration for not holding their staff accountable. The administration needs to care enough to not employ losers ! They need to have the guts to terminate employment on the FIRST COMPLAINT. I blame the home for not providing my mother with the oxygen that she needed to live ! The administration look the other way while elders are not cared for. They try to make people think the elders are crazy just to protect their uncaring, rude, and lazy staff. After my mom died, I learned that this home put an elder out in the porch during the freezing cold and the elder froze to death. Do your homework before putting your loved ones here !!! PLEASE I volunteered to help this administration use the Quality Management Systems to improve their processes. I have been fully trained on process design and the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Management Systems. I challenged them to work with me to become a world class facility. They were not interested. I assume the administration were just like most Americans ... too lazy to be GREAT ! So sad
