About Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center

Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Lawton, Oklahoma, serving military veterans. The center operates a memory care unit and provides both medical and residential services to its veteran population.

Family experiences with the facility vary significantly. Several families report that staff demonstrate genuine care and attentiveness, one family with experience in long-term care noted the staff had built close relationships with their father-in-law and described them as "some of the most kind, caring staff ever." Another family appreciated how staff communicated before providing care, which eased their concerns. Families also mention recreational programming, including arts and crafts activities. However, some residents and families report frustration with clinical care quality, describing certain physicians as unfriendly or cold, and expressing concerns about administrative decisions, including discharge circumstances. Transportation and access barriers have also been cited as challenges for residents without local family support.

The facility holds a 3.8 out of 5 Google rating based on 25 reviews. Ratings are notably polarized: many five-star reviews emphasize compassionate caregiving and a welcoming atmosphere, while one-star reviews focus on specific clinical encounters, staff interactions, and administrative concerns. Prospective families should weigh these mixed experiences carefully.

my younger brother got admitted here last week gave 20 years of his life for us . he has severe dementia stage 6. he is in the memory yellow wing. the care he is getting so far is loving and caring and attentive. all the other residents in is wing seem to be happy can not be happier these people really care. it’s 6/10 now and they kicked my younger brother out. the DON at this place is horrible they are under staffed all the good care givers that were there when he was admitted are not caring for him anymore. it’s sad the facility is awesome but the memory care unit is horrible. seams to me if you can mostly take care of yourself and just need a place to live this place ain’t bad

I just haven't had the care I thought i would. Some Dr's are just unfriendly period like your taking their precious time. I live in Stephens county without transportation and they don't give a shit. DAV is a damn joke, though I do like Mack but he only runs Monday and Tuesday morning. My primary isn't too bad but my specialty Dr is very cold and I wonder how she works with mental health veterans or maybe its just me.

This Veterans Center turned away an amputee homeless Military Veteran who had been living in his vehicle since 2018 because he had only a 60% rating, and not enough to pay for room and board at the Veterans Center. Can you imagine that? The VA was funding 66 Billion yearly for illegal migrants in hotels plus meals along with a $3,600 a month White debit Card.<br>Never Forget.......

They did not treat my husband right the first time he was there. So he asked me to take him out. Now that there is new staff, I'll try again.
