My elderly mother was at Laurie Care Center for a brief time for PT & OT after a surgery. The neglect she encountered was insane! If she wasn’t in PT or OT they kept her in her bed the rest of the time. I visited her often and every time I was there, her bedside table with her water on it was out of reach against the far wall. Basic human needs were not met. Please do not take your loved one here, it is a horrible and untrained staff, which reflects on the management.

The staff truly care for the residents. Its nice to come into a facility so clean and so family oriented. You can definitely tell the residents are so happy and well cared for.

I hate to have to be so negative but this family has had enough of nursing home failures. Neglect . On even the basic care. We’ve had our 93 yr old mother in 4 homes and 3 out of the 4 are Rediculous at best. Laurie Care Center I suppose would be ok enough if you could care for yourself or only had to stay short term. But just in the last 6 months it’s become a neglectful nightmare!!!! No exaggeration when I say just a few failures that happen regularly and the Administrator is where it all stems from. No plan, no hands on supervision, SHES just not a good one to oversee elderly people. Undertrained CNAs. No shift to shift communication, if a resident is supposed to be a 2 person transfer or a lift hoyer is used, doesn’t matter… one CNA does it regardless. Water glasses arent iced and refilled as often as they should at all. Or the water glass is left out of residents reach constantly, hair not combed and hands and face not washed, they don’t care if thr clothes they put on her even matches , cold hall trays and they don’t even get the tray until 2 hours after the meal time. And usually nothing to drink with it. Sometimes they don’t even get a tray at all. If you can still move at all you make your own way back from meals. There are only 2 aides and they’re both feeding the helpless. The admin nor either of the DONs ever work thr floor assisting the 2 aides or residents which is nonsense. So for 2 hrs after every meal NOBODY is working the floor/ halls to assure a resident doesnt get down. They don’t answer call lights anywhere close to a reasonable time. And there are a couple aides who refuse to answer a resident hollering for help because they’re supposed to use their call lights anywhere close!! Room floors and recliners are always filthy with crumbs and odds and ends trash. They sent mother out to a dentist appt in a chilly wet day with no coat , oxygen tank empty. No shoes and the wrong teeth. And dont say anything to most of the aides as they’ll make excuses and never try to do better. The administration holds no one accountable and never goes out of her office. I’ve sat and told her my complaints , wrote them on paper too. Nothing is ever changed. She just doesn’t see to things lie

I’ve visited there several times to take part in their activities. I was happily surprised to see that so many of the residents participate in those activities and they were excited to see the children and dogs visit them. The Care Center’s evaluations from the State rank exceptionally high and I may have found a future home for me when I need care. Well done, Laurie Care Center!

I can’t recommend Laurie Care enough. My father, Robert Malson, has been receiving exceptional care here, and it’s been a huge relief to know he’s in such great hands. Ally and Carly have been incredibly kind and compassionate, always making sure my dad feels cared for and valued. Amanda, the nursing aide, has been equally amazing—attentive and genuinely invested in his comfort. The nurses, especially Sue, have been fantastic at keeping us updated and ensuring my dad’s medical needs are well looked after. Karisma, the medical assistant, has a calm and caring presence that has made even the tougher days easier for my dad and our family. Diana, the admissions and social services clerk, has been an absolute lifesaver, guiding us through the process and ensuring everything runs smoothly. And I can't forget to mention Kirstin, Angel, and Kris in the dining room, who have created such a welcoming and friendly environment for my dad. Overall, the team at Laurie Care has made an incredible impact on my dad’s life, and I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done. Highly recommend them! —Chris Gentleman
