I had my husband, Art, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia, admitted to a memory care facility that claimed they could care for him, but could not. Shortly after he was there, they requested 24/7 private aide service because he tried to escape and was very agitated. The Nursing Director and staff didn't offer me much assistance or hardly communicated with me for 5 weeks, other than to tell me that this was not going to work out. I knew I would have to find another place, but did not know where. It was such a stressful time!<br>I then heard about Lakeland Manor ALF. I met with the Director at the facility and she came out the next day to assess my husband. She could not believe I still had private aide service and she already had a plan of care to help me and my husband out. We moved him to Lakeland Manor and the level of care was like night and day compared with the old facility. The Director is very involved with the care of her residents and does give continual teaching to her staff. The staff is also very kind and caring, and seem to enjoy their jobs. Many of them have worked there for a long time. For the first time in 5 weeks, I finally felt comfortable leaving my husband in memory care!<br>If you are looking for a fancy facility, I would not go there. But if you are looking for good care, kindness, and safety for your loved one, I would highly recommend it!

They hurt my mom last year and refused to produce the video to show how she got hurt and who hurt her. Now, less than a year later, mom is having emergency hip replacement. And no one seems to care. They are severely understaffed there and they do what they can, at least when I'm watching. It's scary to think what's happening to Mom when I'm not there to protect her. Someone there needs to be in jail or out of a job.

am so disappointed in this facility. I had to place my mom there a few years back and when I would talk to her she would say I gotta get off the phone I don't want to get into trouble. Well now I will tell you about December into January<br><br>My mom was rushed to the hospital and it took the head nurse 45 mins to call me to let me know that my mom supposedly slipped out of her wheelchair going down the ramp. Well when I got to the hospital it looked like someone beat the crap out of her and it looked like hand prints was around her throat on top of I can't count how many times the let her fall in the shower mind you my mom is partly paralyzed she needs help to stand, getting in and out of bed, ECT. So when my mom got to the rehab they found out that my mom's heel on her foot was broken mind you no one had it checked out.<br><br>The food was awful my mom lost so much weight because she would not eat. I showed up one night when she was eating and the so called chicken salad sandwich she had was mostly bread and about 10 chips on the side.<br><br>When I went to get my mom's things because I had her moved all of her things was just thrown in a room and some of her things was missing.<br><br>They are awful to the people who have no choice but to be there.<br><br>It is not safe for anyone.<br><br>I threatened to sue them for what they did to my mom.<br><br>And they only got the 1star because I had to.<br><br>They should be out of business and all of the workers should be in jail

This is the best facility that I have toured. Very clean and smells fresh. No urine smells. They staff are very helpful and polite.

The facility new color and remodeling is amazing! Definitely feels like a home when you come in to the facility. The staff makes you feel so welcoming the min you step in! I recommend bringing your family here!
