La Paz Geropsychiatric Center

La Paz Geropsychiatric Center is a residential treatment facility in Paramount, California, serving adults ages 50 and older diagnosed with serious mental illness. Opened in 1986, the community offers an alternative to state hospitals and acute care facilities, providing safe and effective medical and psychiatric treatment.

The facility accepts residents conserved by the Los Angeles Public Guardians Office and referred through the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, as well as privately conserved residents not referred by LADMH. La Paz maintains contractual agreements with several other counties and accepts admissions from those jurisdictions as well.

The community's goals include reducing the symptoms of severe mental illness, providing safe and effective medical and psychiatric care, and allowing residents greater choice and involvement in their own treatment planning.
