Everyone was super nice to me and got me in and out very quickly while still checking everything and making sure I was okay. Not to mention the room and building are very clean.

Maria the Physicians Assistant saved my life Saturday 30 May 2026 at 830 am. I went in because i was convinced i had a sinus infection. Maria the PA quickly assessed that i did not have a sinus infection but that something was wrong. She could have just let me leave but she did not. She had Tracey escort me to the emergency room on the other side of the clinic and she made it pretty clear that her instructions were non-negotiable because she could tell i was just going to go home. Upon arrival at the ER the doctor directed a cat scan, then another cat scan with contrast. They determined i had a blood clot in my brain. 30 minutes later i was in an ambulance headed toward The Munson stroke center in Traverse City. The nuerologist at Munson immediately began treating me in order to disolve the clot. He also informed me tthat Maria had saved my life. I cannot say enough about the incredible professionals at both facilities. I apologize for not remembering all of their names but to a person, the dedication to professional excellence and dedication to patient care are unmatched. Thank all of you very much.. Kalkaska ER is the best in the area. They have consistently given us excellent care for years. Today my daughter had to come in for a stitch, and she left with a popsicle and a smile on her face. Easily the nicest doctors and nurses I have ever encountered. I don't care what their pay rate is now, but give them all a raise!

I have endometriosis that is treated by University of Michigan. Sometimes it causes a pain flare up. Every time I’ve come to the ER for that issue, the providers have been incredibly kind and helpful. They always believe me and never make me feel stupid for coming in. Endometriosis often doesn’t show up on ER imaging, despite that I’m always treated well. I appreciate it so much. It is the total opposite at Munson in Traverse City.
