Disappointed by the impoliteness of staff during an attempt to try to find placement for a patient. Intake person was angry that I had called more than once to get a hold of her, gave me their central intake number and then hung up on me without explanation. Very unprofessional and unfortunate as I was just trying to find urgent placement for a patient. Don’t recommend.

Visiting in August 2025 found the facility tidier than years before. Staff very helpful and informative. Room bathroom very clean. A care plan conference was welcoming and caring. Professional.

I wanted to share my experience with Iowa City rehab and health care. My dad was placed here by the university of iowa hospital, and at first wasn't so sure of the place. The building is old , and kind of far from where I lived, so visited wasn't going to be easy. So I was going to try to move him, but then I met the staff, they were amazing, very caring wonderful people ❤️ They took the time to get to know my dad, and made sure he had everything he needed and wanted. That isn't an easy task considering he doesn't talk very well, it takes alot of patience. This has that and a whole lot more. Dad said the food was good also, and that in itself is a feat. Physical therapy did wonders for him also. The place as a whole was amazing, thanks again for everything ❤️

My husband had a very positive outcome w/rehab. Kim(therapist) was very supportive, taking an extraordinary amount of time explaining therapy being done and progress being made. My husband commented on how nice everyone was and that there was also someone available to provide assistance to him. Very grateful and comforted by all their care. Don't judge on how the building looks, it's the people inside that count and they were wonderful !

There are some good staff that try hard and care but they face an uphill battle until the nursing home is owned by a new company. The current owners are focused on money, and admitting people whether or not there's enough staff to care for everyone, and are not employee focused and employees will be worked to the bone. Like I said there are some good staff with heart but they need a new management company who knows what they're doing.
