Augustine’s review is 100% on par. If you can, take your loved one into the bigger city where they will have legitimate and loving care. The hygiene protocols clearly have not changed in almost 2 years now. The understaffing issue will disallow for your loved one to get the exercise they need to prevent further issues such as blood clots. Please please do your family a favor and take them to a better place.

My mother was transported to Indian Hills for continued recovery on January 12th after falling and breaking her femur. Yesterday I heard from my mom that it had been 16 days for her to receive her FIRST bath/shower. Their hygiene protocol due to covid/short staff has gone from 2 showers a week to 1 shower a week (which I find repulsive in of itself), but 16 days without a shower is inappropriate, neglect, and poor/pathetic care/management). Everyday since her arrival (which my mom is of sound mind) has asked her CNA when it is her turn for a shower/bath. Each time she's told that they'll get on it, schedule it, etc. She only received her first shower because yesterday she had a progress meeting with social services and other staff where she included that she hadn't been bathed once since she arrived on JANUARY 12th. Within 10 minutes after the meeting she was being escorted to take a shower. Had she not mentioned it in this meeting, I wonder how long it would be till she did get her first bath... If you have a family member who is a resident of Indian Hills, please make sure your relative, friend, spouse, etc, is being taken care of properly. Thank goodness my mom is able to speak for herself, but I fear for others in that facility that aren't able to and don't get the help that they need. I called the admin for the facility-Chad, I made a call to their compliance number they gave me, I reported this to their parent company Lantis Enterprises, and I made a call to the neglect and abuse hotline for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. I pray that the other residents of Indian Hills are getting the proper care they deserve. Please check on your loved ones and their care. God Bless.
