Recently visited this home as it is under new management. I already see improvements! Residents seem happier, facility is cleaner and being renovated. I am excited to see what all the new company does for this home.

The memory care unit is horrible. Aides are about the only one back there. They did have some very caring Aides. Nurses are hard to find. Dr Glueck who is one of the physicians rarely sees patients herself. When you try to contact her to get updates was told by her office to not contact her to ask Monticello staff questions. When asking staff questions your told 3 different answers or the usual “I don’t know “ or “I’ve been off a few days let me check” The food they give Memory Care residents is not always the same consistency as the regular dining area. If you have a relative with some memory issues I would not recommend Monticello.

The daytime staff at this facility are generally kind and attentive. However, the night shift is a stark contrast, with certain workers displaying neglectful and unprofessional behavior toward patients. One CNA in particular, Josh, has exhibited cruelty and neglect, including forcibly placing patients in bed and even removing their call buttons. A particularly distressing incident involved an elderly patient in the dining room who repeatedly asked for assistance to use the restroom. Despite her pleas, no one responded, and The poor woman accidentally wetted herself on the floor. In the middle of the dining room. This level of neglect is not only unacceptable but constitutes abuse. It is imperative that the night shift staff be closely monitored, and appropriate action be taken against those who fail to provide the compassionate care that patients deserve.

I gave the rating that I did because in 2022 when our dad went to live here staff was amazing. Administration was great. But then the turn over in 2023. Short of staff, uneducated staff, changing of administration, quality of care was less than adequate. Would not recommend this place. Things happen and things disappear and no one seems to know what happened. The happy engaging staff was gone. If you can’t take care of residents due to staffing then cut back on residents you allow in. And provide for the ones you do have. More education of staff is very much needed for dementia patients. Glad we were able to move our dad after being here only 10 months. Would not recommend this place.

Not enough staff. Education is lacking in handling dementia patients. Communication between nursing, aides and other staff is less than poor.
