Honolaa Hospital Medical Clinic. Where do I begin. Long story short second day of my vacation I broke my arm in four places and my foot in two places. Had surgery ended up with four plates and two screws in my arm and one plate and two screws in my ankle. Was sent to Hale Ho'ola Hamakua for a month to recover prior to getting on an airplane back to Utah. I can't express how grateful and pleased I was with the staff there they are AMAZING, HELPFUL, GENEROUS, CARING AND SO KIND! The care I got from the nurses, nurses aides and especially the CNA's was unsurpassed, top notch! They checked on me frequently and made sure I was comfortable always checking my vitals and making sure that my pain was under control, here again they are an amazing crew, both day and night! Most of my care were with the CNAs and I can't thank them enough for everything they helped me with from bathing to brushing my hair and everything in between you all are amazing people and everybody needs to know that! Now for the cleaning staff and the food. The cleaning staff were so friendly and always checking to make sure they could come in and clean my room, they were incredible as well! As for the food? It was freaking delicious! I could not believe how good the food was in fact I was very surprised. They would come in on a weekly basis to go over which items I wanted for the meals that week. Super friendly staff here as well. If there was something that I didn't like they always had another option that I could go get. So on the food I'd give it a strong 9 out of 10! Last but not least was the physical therapy crew. Here again I can't say enough kind things about this department they were all encouraging and helpful! I actually kind of miss them because they were always there trying to push me to get better. Thank you! A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED AND COMMUNICATED WITH ME, I DEFINITELY COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT ALL OF YOU! THIS IS THE BEST FACILITY I COULD EVER HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO GO TO THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Blessings to you all MaryAnn Owen

Only doctor "weird Al Yankovich" detracted from my recent experience. I found him awkward, short and abrupt. The nurses are top notch. Ive been there a few times now. They have an outstanding woman doctor, I forget her name. 5 stars, otherwise.

I called from off island to ask questions about possibly food drop off for my MIL who unexpectedly had to stay in the facility. The staff member (Charla) made wonderful suggestions and even offered to help pick up anything my MiL needed. She said, “We’re all like family here and help one another.” In a year that has been full of such negativity and uncertainty, it was refreshing to know the aloha spirit still exists!
