If you want your family member abandoned, they are for you. My father was taken to the hospital at the end of a caregivers shift to care for my mother. They were asked by the fire department if they could stay and they refused, which is understandable to a degree, but when the fire and rescue contacted Home Instead, they were unable to help at all and let the firefighter know that “it was not their problem and did not care because they were off at 5:00pm.” When I was able to get to her an hour later, she was scared, alone, and on the floor confused and yelling for help. On top of that, they continue to leave me messages that need to be given to my father about care changes and sick call outs. I have now called three times to tell them they are contacting me and not the person scheduling care, and for the third time they say they will fix it. The third time I had enough of their lies and was nasty to Bruce because it was obvious being nice did not work! Poor communication in the company and it really compromises care of your loved one. Choose another company as they seem to be a joke!

My elderly mother developed Alzheimer's but desperately wanted to stay in her home. We hired Home Instead as daily in home support. The caregiver they provided us was dependable, positive and very easy to work with. She provided my mom companionship, meal prep, light house keeping and laundry, developed shopping lists, daily drives to the beach as an outing , daily communication with me. The company overall was communicative, organized, flexible and easy to work with. I highly recommend them for in-home support of a loved one. They were a gift to my family.

We have been using Home Instead in-home care for our mother for about the past year and a half, and I am thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service they provide. The caregivers have consistently shown kindness, patience, respect, compassion, and professionalism. They really care for our mother and provide her with wonderful personal care and companionship, assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, bathing, and even going for walks and outings. The caregivers proactive approach in directly communicating with us, whether to address challenging situations, share positive updates or photos of our mother has been greatly appreciated. The impact on our mother's quality of life, (and ours) has been positive since we started using Home Instead. Their services have allowed her to remain in the home she worked so hard to maintain throughout her life, giving us immense peace of mind! A special mention must be made for Karissa, who is the true rock star/ hero at Home Instead. Her dedication and commitment are beyond commendable. We often feel as though we are her only clients, given the exceptional attention she provides, even though we know she has many others. Karissa genuinely has our best interests at heart and goes above and beyond in every aspect of her role. Karissa puts significant effort into planning, ensuring that the caregivers are a perfect fit for our mother, managing the schedule, handling scheduling changes, and being mindful of costs and overtime. Day or night her response is immediate responsiveness, whether it's to answer a quick question, address an emergency, or accommodate a schedule change. Karissa's ability to consult with us and find solutions while keeping the bigger picture and costs in mind is truly remarkable. We know she is Juggling many families including her own but we wish we could clone her! We highly recommend Home Instead and are truly grateful for their support.

Home Instead in Mountlake Terrace is the reason my dad is doing so well after a fall. Their response to our short-notice need was immediate - we had care in place within 24 hours! The owner, Bruce, obviously cares about families. Lynn, the intake person who came out, was a delight. The caregivers assigned to us were excellent. Timely, attentive, kind, personable and focused on providing care. These folks' hearts are in the right place and we're so very glad they were there in our time of need. We will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Home Instead provided exceptional care for my mom and dad. Every staff member, from the owner on down, was dedicated, reliable and kind to me as the primary caregiver, and especially to my geriatric parents . The quality of care was incredible, evidenced by kindness, respect, consistency and dedication. The workers were always on time and paid attention to details of the Care Plan. Each person I had contact with helped me be a better caretaker and provided support and assistance with a pleasant, caring and professional attitude. The people in the office were always cheerfully helpful, happy to assist in any way possible. The workers who cared first for my father, then three years later for my mother, each had a stellar work ethic. They all showed respect and caring for my mom and dad, in such a way as to keep their dignity intact. Home Instead provided the kind of caretaking which allowed me to focus on loving mom & dad and put trust in their care, a phenomenal gift.
