Several years ago, shortly after my mother, Eloise Heslip, became a resident at Heritage Hall in Dillwyn, I wrote a review expressing how welcomed and cared for she was. Today, after her passing, I wanted to write one final review—not only for my mother, but for our entire family.

Walking alongside someone through dementia is one of the most difficult journeys a family can face. Over the last five years, the nurses, CNAs, therapists, activities staff, housekeeping, dietary staff, administration, and so many others at Heritage Hall became much more than caregivers. They became part of our extended family.

They treated my mother with dignity, kindness, patience, and genuine compassion throughout every stage of her illness. More importantly, they cared for our family as well. They answered questions, offered encouragement, celebrated the good days, and helped us through the difficult ones with professionalism and heartfelt compassion.

My mother was known for always having a song in her heart, and even as dementia slowly took so much from her, the staff continued to see the person she had always been. That meant more to our family than words can express.

To every member of the Heritage Hall Dillwyn team: thank you for loving my mom, for preserving her dignity, and for walking this journey with us. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

On behalf of the Heslip and Bratton families, thank you for everything you have done. You made a lasting difference in my mother's life and in ours.

I wound like to thank all the staff, Mishi Hamlor, NP and Dr. Madhoun for the great care they have given my Mother. They have all been very attentive and compassionate. You all have made her feel very comfortable and secure which means a lot to me and my siblings.
