If I could leave 0 stars, I would, because 1 is too generous. If you are considering Grand Manor to care for your loved one, I cannot stress this enough: PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE. I would not trust this facility with someone you love. My mother was a resident here for nearly a year, and our experience was one of the most heartbreaking, frustrating, and stressful experiences our family has ever endured. As her daughter, I spent almost a year constantly worrying about whether she was safe, cared for, and treated with the dignity every person deserves. The facility itself was consistently dirty and smelled strongly of urine. Mice were frequently seen throughout the building, droppings were found in clothes, a literal mouse nest was found in her walker basket, and basic cleanliness appeared to be neglected. My mother’s sheets often went unchanged, and residents’ personal belongings regularly disappeared. These are not isolated inconveniences—they are basic standards of care that every resident should be able to expect. The administration was incredibly difficult to communicate with. Phone calls and concerns often went unanswered, problems were ignored, and there was little accountability when serious issues were brought to their attention. One of the most alarming situations occurred when the facility went without hot water for over a week. It was not resolved until my family filed a formal complaint with the state. Elderly residents should never have to go without hot water, especially in a nursing facility where they depend on staff for nearly every aspect of daily living. I also have serious concerns regarding my mother’s medications. Based on what I personally observed and documented, I believe there were times her prescribed medications may not have been administered appropriately. While I cannot say with certainty exactly what occurred, the inconsistencies were concerning enough to cause our family significant distress. I visited the facility many times throughout my mother’s stay, and watching the way some staff members spoke to and dismissed residents was heartbreaking. I witnessed residents being spoken to with impatience and disrespect, often having their concerns brushed aside. The last time I was there to collect her belongings, the nursing staff could not even look me in the eye and stood in the corner talking about us like teenage girls. If this is how some residents are treated when family members are present, it is deeply concerning to think about how they may be treated when no one is there to advocate for them. Perhaps the most disturbing part of our experience was that staff would sometimes involve me in situations that should have been handled professionally. Instead of de-escalating difficult moments, they would contact me and use me—my mother’s own daughter—to upset or antagonize her. No family member should ever be put in that position, and no resident should be treated that way. Thankfully, my mother no longer resides at this facility. For the first time in nearly a year, I am no longer living with the constant anxiety of wondering whether she is being cared for properly. That alone says everything about our experience. However, I do want to acknowledge that there were a handful of staff members who consistently treated residents with the kindness, dignity, patience, and compassion they deserve. Those individuals made a difficult situation a little more bearable, and I am genuinely grateful for the care they provided. Unfortunately, they were the exception rather than the standard. Our elderly loved ones deserve to spend this stage of their lives in a place where they are safe, respected, clean, and cared for with compassion. Based on my family’s experience, I cannot recommend Grand Manor to anyone. If you are searching for a nursing home for someone you love, I sincerely hope you choose a facility that values its residents far more than we experienced here.

Would not recommend this facility, miscommunication, unorganized, and wouldn’t grant an appropriate visit for my siblings to my father who has now passed. Lack of care and also lack of compassion. NEVER send your loved one here!
