My mother went in for a Hospice respite care on the evening of 6-10-26. At 10:30 am on 6-11-26 | arrived to check on her. She was alone in a room chocking. I cleared most of the object from her mouth and had went to the nurses station where 3 of them were standing around talking. I ask "what is in my mother's mouth?" One replied "probably a biscuit, I tried to get it away from her, but couldn't". (Mind you my mom can't even use her arms to hold a glass so it must have been a real struggle for this nurse who then decided the best course of action was to just leave her in the room unsupervised with it). She also had not been eating well for sometime, let alone a huge dried biscuit. When I ask where my mother got the biscuit, they informed me that my nonverbal mother asked to go to breakfast and this is where she must have gotten it. I wouldn't trust them to watch a geriatric dog. She was removed from their care. It is on video.
