THIS IS LONG OVERDUE!!! I HAVE A LOT TO SAY!!! I spend 2 weeks at Good Samaritan Center in Oakes from April 30th to May 14th, 2025. I was taken to the ER twice....on May 10th and May 14th by ambulance, the first nurse by the last name Awender was EXCELLENT!!I had to fight, some of the nurses to get taken to the ER, they refused and I was in so much pain 😢 this was a day after my ER VISIT, and they refused to take me after I said there is something very wrong with my wrist and arm....it turned turned out to be MRSA and I almost lost my arm. I told the doctor in ER did you do an culture and sensitivity to check for the correct drug to be given. I was given Keflex first because they did not know what they were deal with. I was pretty out of it at the first ER visit because MRSA was going into my bloodstream. A few days later the culture showed MRSA. My wrist was so red it was like a slab of meat and my arm was twice the size it was before the infection. On the May 14th after another ER visit that evening I was taken back to Sanford trauma center by ambulance, this was about midnight in Fargo. I was put on vancomycinn, one of the strongest antibiotics....for 1 week or longer in the hospital there and then onto Altru Rehab in Grand Forks for about another week or longer. I was on antibiotics for about 4 months total between the hospital, rehab and infusions I had to give myself. I was at the Fargo hospital twice and Altru twice at this point from my car accident the first part of April. I was not treated very well, except for a few good hardworking nurses' assistants and some of the nurses were good. There are some nurses that are very lazy, too. I told one of the RN that I was about to walk out of here but I was not going to screw up my back because if the way I was treated by some staff. I was in a turtle suit for 2 months because of 5 compression fractures in my back and alot of broken bones in my body. Some of the nurses' assistants were very verbally abusive and some were physically abusive. A lot of the lazy ones are in with management and the good ones suffer for the bad ones. Kathy Moore, the social worker the first day I got there...she told me if there is anyone who does not treat you right get back to me. I got back to her right away but nothing was done!!! Her excuse was .......we do not have enough staff. I said people can be changed around but she refused. She also said I was putting the call light on all the time....which was a total lie and I told her so!!! I told her it I need to use the call light there is a reason as I was completely bedridden because of my injuries. I had to use the bedpan to pee and poop. She did not say another word!!! A lot of times it was 30 minutes to 45 minutes before a NA would answer the call light to use the bedpan. When I first was in the nursing home.... there were 2 wonderful NAs, Shirley Walker and Maria were in to help me, in coming Kathy Peters, LPN that was telling the 2 NAs to hurry up with me... they have only gotten in there 5 minutes before and was doing my cares. The 2 NAs just looked at her and say nothing, and I understand this because I use to work there. A lot of NA would wipe me from front to back and then front again....I said you are going to cause an UTI. They are taught this in nurse's assistant training.....they just don't care!!! The good nurse's assistants talk to Paula Witt, DON and she does nothing...she protects the lazy ones. They are her buddies. The good NA get the shaft. Shirley Walker and Maria are hardworking NA at Good Samaritan and gave excellent care!!! I would only let Shirley Walker do my bedbaths because a lot of them are rough with cares and I am in enough pain as it is. She is gentle. My body has a lot of broken bones. A lot of call lights were shut off by NAs and RNs and they would shut the door behind them, it was so hot in there......I told them to keep the door open many times. This was happening a lot and when I was screaming in pain telling them HELP ME!!!!
