Sorry to say that we had a horrible experience here with my mother-in-law. It was made extremely clear to us that the staff want to heavily medicate memory care patients so they will be less active. This lowers the quality of life, but makes them easier to manage throughout the day. Perhaps this is because they are understaffed... She went in for "respite care" as we were determining the next course of action for a long term facility. We decided that the focus on heavy medication in addition to an altercation with another resident were strong reasons for her not to stay. Hopefully things improve.

In PA, nursing homes are required to have licensed nursing staff on every shift. There is no LPN on night shift in personal care or memory care. I visited my father and asked him, and he told me there is no nurse at night. Management is part of a clique, residents are not treated kindly, I have seen it first hand. Residents are afraid to speak up. I also asked my father what he does during the day, and he said there are no activities.

Six months or so after we moved to Frederick Living, my wife told me she was surprised at how quickly she felt at home. The staff are both welcoming and helpful, and the residents were open and friendly. We quickly became part of the Frederick community.

I have more friends at Frederick than I've ever had. Also, I am relieved that I do not have to worry about any maintenance situations. I feel very safe and included.

I am a hospice and home care service provider. I have recently toured this community as I have clients and loved ones who are interested in the best of the best when it comes to senior living and I can honestly say Frederick living is a leading community. If every community had standards like Frederick living we would all be looking forward to our senior years. Keep doing what you do Frederick, don’t change a thing!
