I can’t believe I haven’t left a review before now! When our Mom first came to the Dacota, She was on hospice care (They had given her 6 to 8 weeks to live) Mom has had three more birthdays since then! Our family gives Mark and the staff at the Dacota all the credit! The care they gave her turned everything around! The atmosphere is that of a warm, clean, beautiful and yet comfortable home that makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time with all the gorgeous stained glass windows, Tiffany lamps, inlaid floors, 10’ pocket doors, the craftsmanship of the woodwork and antiques galore! But the most important thing cannot be overstated! The peace of mind that our family has with our precious 93 year old Mom being there is absolutely priceless! We have had the luxury of becoming our Mom’s daughters again and not her full time caregivers. The staff there is top notch to say the least! They have truly earned our trust over the years and when our Mom tells us that she feels safe and warm being there, we know without a doubt she is in the right place! All the home cooked meals are prepared right there where every resident (and guests!) can enjoy the wonderful aromas created in the kitchen! Another thing not to be taken for granted. Plus, it is a huge, brightly lit dining room where they are encouraged to be together and socialize. Families are welcome to gather there with their loved ones for get togethers or parties. We feel like we have a whole extended family there! Medically speaking, the care again is the best. They reach out to family when necessary just to keep you up to date with your loved one. And when accidents happen, as did with our Mom, she took a fall and broke her femur. After surgery to repair it, she went to recover at a local rehab center that did NOTHING for her, (outside of a few of her nurses that truly cared) She was way over medicated and their answer was to put our Mom in Hospice. Mark came to our rescue and he took Mom back into the Dacota. In 2 days, he/they had her up and walking with her walker!! This is the second time that Mark, Kyle, Annabelle, Kevin, Pammy, Melony, Tange and their nurse Sandy have saved our Mom and brought her back to us! We love them all!
