When our then-92 year old mom suffered one fall and injury too many and needed to move from her independent living apartment to a facility which provided caregivers onsite 24/7, my brothers and I needed to act quickly to find a new, safe home for Mom. Initially reluctant to move, Mom quickly came to refer to the Creekwood staff as her guardian angels. Creekwood proved perfect for Mom – aides available day and night to help with all ADLs, med techs on staff to monitor and administer medications, a kitchen staff who prepare healthy meals, an activity director on-site daily, and a management team who are beyond helpful and accommodating. The management team is key to any organization. What’s happening at the top of the pyramid – good or bad - is what will happen at every level. Creekwood is independently owned and overseen by Paula, and managed day-to-day by co-administrators Nancy and Rachel. These three set the standard and tone for the entire facility – and because they are warm, caring, and service-oriented, so is everyone else. Cost-wise, Creekwood is very reasonable – the prices are aligned fairly with the services provided. Everything is included: laundry, meals, medication management, incontinence supplies, etc. No hidden fees, no raising rates as needs increase. As noted in another review, By The Bay Health has a strong relationship with Creekwood which meant that when it was time for Mom to enter hospice, we were able to work with wonderful Nurse Alexia who, since she already had several clients at Creekwood, was familiar with the facility and staff, and was immediately available to Mom and our family as we navigated Mom’s decline and death. What could have been a lonely and difficult path was instead made so much easier simply because Mom was surrounded by skilled and compassionate people who genuinely cared about her and us. If I could give Creekwood more than five stars, I would.
