Our mom moved into this facility 2+ years ago. Beautiful, clean and a truly joyful environment! The staff is absolutely amazing! They have progressively gotten better month by month. They truly care about the residents and are always so kind and helpful! LT and Gabe are some of the most caring individuals. We feel so blessed to have found this as a home for our mom.

On June 3, 2026, my wife and I will have lived at Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes for six months. We were told by almost everyone that a transition of me going into an independent living apartment and my wife into a separate memory care unit, was going to be one of the hardest things we will ever do as a couple. And they were right; there were some rough times. What made the difference for us came from the staff at Grand Living, from the executive director to the numerous care givers who loved on us, gave us support and encouragement that helped make these changes in our life both bearable and supportive. What made these changes so difficult was that I was having to give up many of the responsibilities of care I had taken on for almost two years and now I had to trust them to people I did not know. The care my wife has been given in the memory unit at Grand Living, has been superb under the direction of Stephanie Elkins, and I could not be more pleased. Stephanie quickly learned about my wife and her particular needs as well as those of her husband who was struggling with giving up most of the care giving responsibilities that I had been accustomed to providing. Stephanie gave us time, attention, and loving care to both of us as we progressed through this transition. She has encouraged me and continues to shared her experiences of caring for other memory care patients and their families. There is no doubt just how completely she accepts the responsibilities of caring for her residents and their families. She is passionate about what she does and demands the best from herself as she loves on her resident patients. I chose to write about Stephanie, not because she is the only staff person who cares, because she is not. We have been cared for and loved on by so many of the staff, from the memory care unit to the ladies who cleans my room and makes my bed, to the men and women in the dining rooms who take our food orders and deliver our plates to our tables. Everything in terms of the resident care has been first class and personal. My son on the second tour of Grand Living, asked the Executive Director, LT Thurmond, what makes this facility so superior to all the others in this area. Her quick reply was, “My people”. There is nothing more effective than an Executive Director who cares for his or her “people” and finds the best people available to staff a demanding responsibility of such a large community as is Grand Living.

We love the place we chose for my mom. It is beautiful and the staff are helpful and caring towards our mother. Stephanie in Luminations has been a delight. You can tell she has real conversations with our mom and that she cares about the residents. Thanks also to Stella, the CNA on day shift. She is so warm and friendly and even checks on mom when we are visiting.

I would like to start this review by saying Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes is beautiful. If you are able bodied and able to get around by yourself, it’s a great community with a lot to offer. If you are in a wheelchair and need someone to push you to the dining room, there is a charge for that. If you need your laundry done, it’s $15 for a load. If you need any assistance with daily living, beware. They package the assistance levels and will change your level without notifying you. If you aren’t able to walk, don’t move to Grand Living. And the food was not all that. It’s $15 to have a meal delivered to your room if you are not sick. If you don’t feel like getting out and want dinner in your room, it’s $15. Let that sink in. They can’t keep a nurse for any length of time. Morale was very low. The turnover of caregivers is very high. I would not recommend Grand Living for assisted living. Only senior living.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and support our Mom receives at Grand Living in the Memory Care neighborhood. She’s been there 15 months and is thriving! It’s evident that residents are treated with dignity, compassion and respect and are able to live a full life. The team provides daily enrichment, exercise, consistent care and a wide variety of activities that keep the residents engaged. This was an incredibly hard decision for our family and we visited 6 different communities to ensure we found the perfect place. Grand Living has given us peace of mind to know that our Mom is safe and her well-being is priority. The care team and med techs go above and beyond to create a warm, supportive, healthy and fun environment. A very special heartfelt thank you to Stephanie and Quinn. We couldn’t do it without you. You make Monarch special in every way and go above and beyond the job. Your dedication is unmatched and your kindness gives us tremendous comfort. We could not ask for a better team. Thanks to everyone at Grand Living for everything you everyday.
