On our first visit at Charter my Aunt felt right at home. At 3 weeks in she is loving her new assisted living apt,the great care from all the staff, and talking with her new friends at meal times in the dining room. She now says she should have been living here years ago. Sharon and Jean made the beginning process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I would text Sharon questions during the day and I would get her answer very quickly. And Christy went above and beyond to get the cable channels on the tv. The price is great, and every employee is a star. It's like my 2nd home now,I love visiting my Aunt Mary there.

5 stars isn’t enough. We moved Mom to Charter Senior at Northpark Place in the beginning of November….and we wouldn’t want her anywhere else. Here’s why.

Management went over and above to help Mom (and us) transition to this community. Lynnea (Marketing Director) created a personal connection at my first visit. She was truly interested in Mom and seeking to learn all she could about the family’s situation. She visited Mom (brought flowers - her favorite) and talked with her for about an hour. She encouraged me to bring Mom to events and even suggested resources to assist us in this transition. During the initial tour, Jean (Executive Director) popped into Lynnea’s office. Lynnea introduced her and she took time out of her schedule, sat down right then to learn about Mom and our situation. She empathized with us; she faced similar challenges, concerns and decision points. Since then, I’ve seen Jean display empathy and compassion in every encounter; she’s truly concerned about Mom’s safety while maintaining her independence. We interacted with Jessica (Wellness Director) after selecting Charter…working closely with her after Mom’s move. We provided her a comprehensive questionnaire outlining Mom’s history. Jessica was always positive about Mom’s transition; she “put the pieces together” relating behavior with personal history to make changes to her care plan. Mom’s transition wasn’t always smooth but Jessica always had another idea on how to ease Mom into the community. Cassandra (Senior Life Enrichment Director) always has a smile and the energy to craft an activity schedule like no other. Mom’s active and we were concerned that there wouldn’t be enough events/activities for her..not to worry at Charter. Cassandra spent time talking with Mom about her background and interests. She encouraged Mom to join activities and assisted her when she did join.
One more point - during my first tour, I was introduced to the owners. Lynnea didn’t have to do that but she did. And they didn’t have to stop what they were doing and speak with me but they did. They spent about 30 minutes sharing their experiences with senior care and learning about our situation.
It’s a passion for seniors - their lifestyle, their safety, their needs - and genuine care and compassion which motivates Management. They convey this to Staff - most of whom exhibit these same characteristics (haven’t had a lot of interaction so will add a review in a few months.). It’s true when they say Charter is a family. We are so thankful.

The thought of having to find space for both parents at the same time was an overwhelming task. My sister and I toured first and found it friendly and welcoming. The visit with our parents was exactly what we all needed to set our minds at ease. Lynnea Eggers took us step by step through the process: from tour to paperwork to costs to move in. She made us feel like we were part of a community, not just a number or statistic. For someone already stressed about the situation, it meant the world to actually be seen and understood. Everyone has made a scary time a bit easier day by day.
