I just drove away from this facility after visiting with my former mother in law who I still love very much and visit each week. I was close to tears in the parking lot! The stench of urine from her roommate’s mattress that the staff just “let air out” with the hope of it drying (it didn’t) before they just covered the wet area with chuks then covered the bed with new sheets and pulled her blanket off of the floor and tossed it back on the bed… The staff is seriously overwhelmed and overextended with having to take care of so many elderly people. AND it is reprehensible that people are treated with so little regard for their “humanness” - every single person in there was once a vibrant human and to see them all lined up in the hallway near the nursing station in various states of duress is extremely painful. That’s on me to deal with AND there is no reason that these beautiful beings should be kept in filth, stench, and feeling alone and ignored. I found my mother in law in the hallway line-up and she clearly needed to use the rest room and had been asking for help when I arrived - two staff members were just a few feet away talking with each other and it was as if she didn’t exist. I immediately took her to her room and the relief was immediate. How can we allow this to be “normalized”? How is this acceptable? This facility needs to be overhauled and the state should do an inspection immediately.

Long term care experience has been positive and my mom has activities everyday in a group setting. The staff has always been available and supportive. I would have given 5 stars, but the president of the organization needs to take some steps to make it a 5 location. The need for an air filtration systems that circulate and cleans the air is a must. No employees or customers should have to smell the pungent odor that spreads throughout the halls. This is an easy fix of getting an ozone machine and running in the halls. Overall I am glad my mom is here.

My sister who suffered from acute and end of life Fronto Temporal Dementia had to be moved from our home hospice care to CECA because we were no longer able to provide 24/7 support and supervision for all of her needs of daily living. The decision to move her to CECA and away from the family was a heartbreaking but necessary one. However, from the moment we arrived my sister was cared for with kind, patient, and warm approaches from the staff. In fact, some of the staff were gifted in their love and nurture, and really went to admirable lengths to best understand and joyfully provide for my sister who could no longer communicate or understand language. We also experienced the administrative team to be deep listeners who cared about my sister’s happiness and quality of life. We entered CECA at all times day and night unannounced, and my sister was always properly supervised and care for. While the decision to transfer a vulnerable family member to a nursing care facility can be a very difficult one, we felt fortunate that my sister's end of life was managed by an ethical and responsible staff that understands the importance of holding a family’s loved one.

My family member has been in the dementia unit for ten months and the compassion, kindness and resourcefulness of the staff there have been outstanding. No overmedicating here, and they deal with everyone with patience and respect. I'm there an hour or two nearly every day, I see what goes on, and I wouldn't have him anywhere else. The staff have also been extremely welcoming, accepting and open with me.

My mom is a current resident and she is treated very well. The staff is amazing to her. I am there quite often to visit my mom and spend quality time. I see what goes on. Anything that my mom needs, they are there. Yes, no place is perfect, but they try. Every place is short staffed but the staff that are in my moms section do a great job and it shows in their personalities and work ethic.
