The staff at California Mission Inn worked diligently to accommodate my mother's needs and provide a warm and kind atmosphere. I could not be happier with the service and kindness provided by Hayden and Maria. The facility is amazing and offers a lot of opportunity for socialization and exercise. We are so happy to become part of the California Mission Inn family.

Leaving this review in the hope that it creates a sense of urgency with someone in leadership. My father is currently staying here for respite care. He is a fall risk, uses a wheelchair, and relies on the emergency pendant that every resident wears to alert staff when they need assistance. This morning, my mother and I visited him and he told us the pendant system didn’t seem to be working because he had been pressing the button repeatedly with no response. When I asked staff about it, I was told the system had been down since yesterday evening and that they were “trying to get management to fix it,” but no one had any updates. I attempted to find a manager or supervisor on site, but no one in charge was available to provide answers beyond “we hope it will be back up soon.” Five hours later, my father called me from his cell phone — something that takes tremendous effort for him because he can barely see and struggles to operate the phone. He told me he had been pressing his call button for over an hour because he needed help, and no one was coming. I called the facility again and was transferred from person to person, none of whom seemed to have any information or authority to address the situation. This is not a criticism of the frontline staff. They appear to have been left completely unsupported by management, with no communication, no contingency plan, and no leadership present over a holiday weekend. It is deeply alarming that the primary emergency communication system for vulnerable residents has reportedly been down for well over 18 hours with no visible urgency, no backup process, and no clear accountability. Residents should never be left in a position where they cannot reliably reach staff when they need help. I have called the manager’s cell phone, sent text messages, and emailed, and so far all we can do is wait and hope someone finally takes this seriously.

5 Stars – A Wonderful Retirement Community! California Mission Inn is truly a hidden gem for senior living. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean, welcoming, and well-maintained everything was. It’s a nice place with so many amenities included — it really feels like a resort! One of the best parts is how convenient healthcare is — doctors and pharmacy services come right to you, which brings great peace of mind. Laundry and restaurant services are included, making day-to-day life incredibly comfortable and stress-free. There are great activity options every week, and the social environment is lively and engaging. The sign-up process was a breeze, especially thanks to Hayden, who made everything smooth and pleasant with their helpful and friendly attitude. We couldn’t be happier with the choice. Highly recommend California Mission Inn to any family looking for a caring, high-quality retirement community!

I was thrilled to find this wonderful community for my father after he sold his home and downsized. Searching all over Los Angeles for an affordable alternative to apartment living for my 79-year-old father, I needed a safe and comfortable place with amenities like meals, transportation, and housekeeping. The spacious one-bedroom unit I found here was perfect! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by cheerful staff and smiling residents. The warm, welcoming atmosphere immediately felt like home, and my father felt it too. He's excited to begin this new chapter. I especially want to thank Hayden and the Director for their exceptional support. When the original apartment became unavailable, they went above and beyond to find a solution for my father. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and dedication.
