Terrible care! It all looks great at first and the staff makes a lot of promises and guarantees. It's all a sales pitch! They don't give proper care. My father had so many falls he was black and blue from head to toe. He wasn't bathed for 9 days, meds weren't given. We pulled him out after 3 weeks. Of course they kept thousands of dollars for those 3 weeks. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!

Seems like a nice place, but the management team is terrible from the director down to kitchen management, the LPN (RNC) dresses in crop tops very unprofessional and the profanity they use around residents is terrible. The Cottage is not some place I would recommend unless new management cleaned it up. Also I have seen kids in the kitchen that belongs to staff while food is being prepared seems to be very unsanitary. Carpet is nasty because staff is letting residents use the bathroom on the floor. Just overall not a good place right now

Decided to move mom in there and had them hold the bed for 1 day then changed our minds. Took 3 months to get a refund and they kept $440 of it. Bad communication with Jori, who actually hang up on me when I tried to get refund. Bad management.

Communication is horrible. Initial tour and meeting went well. Was excited to move forward. Once I paid the deposit communication stopped for 2 weeks. The representative from A Place for Mom had to step in to get the ball rolling again. I should have followed my gut and walked away then, but I was desperate to get my loved one placed. Things moved forward until I paid for the first month and then communication stopped again. After a month I decided to move on. Never got to move my mom in. Quick to take your money, and then seem to quit communicating. Emailed the director about my experience and to inquire about getting my money back. She has never responded. Wasted 6 weeks of my time when I could have had her already placed elsewhere, not to mention the money that is desperately needed for her care. Once I decided to move on I had her placed elsewhere within a week. A horrible experience during an already difficult time.

My mom has been at Bickford on Willow Knolls in Peoria, Illinois since 6/28/24, 2 months and 3 weeks. It was a bumpy start with poor CNA care. Issues addressed. Changed for the better.<br>Now having communication issues with Health and Wellness Director RN. After a phone conversation with her regarding changes to my mom’s care plan, I followed up with 6 texts. It has been 3 weeks with 1 text reply stating she would call me. Never did. Called today 9/20/24 to speak to Director. Left voicemail after speaking to Family Advocate who was also going to email director to call me. No call back. I was overall very happy with Bickford but this issue of being ignored regarding requests to change the care plan is unacceptable. This is not what the Higher Path looks like for my mom.<br>10-07-24 Still no contact from facility.<br>So disappointed.
