My loved one is here for long term. She feels loved and respected and they take good care of her. It is family owned and I now recognize the difference between that family feel and the institutional feel. The family feel is much better for her well being and mine.

I unfortunately chose this facility for my grandfather who has difficulty walking and was there for rehab due to a fall at home and years ago had a stroke that affected his left side. This facility knew and had him labeled as a fall risk, but still allowed him to sleep in a bed with no bed rails. He ended up falling out the bed and hit his head, per the facility, and was taken to the hospital where they said he had a small brain bleed. He was asleep and not responding for awhile and now he is up but he is not aware, he cannot swallow, has a tube in his nose to feed, he does not recognize anyone, and he is just talking at random and can no longer conversate. The hospital is recommending hospice as they say his condition is not going to get better. My grandfather is 92 years old but has always been sharp and able to care for himself for his age. This place was a terrible mistake.

Please be advised when bringing your loved one to Bentley's Extended Care. My grandfather was recently injured while in their care. The initial x-ray findings indicated no signs of broken bones. However, my family sought a second opinion, which revealed a fracture. Despite following the proper chain of communication, there appears to be a significant disconnect between social services and nursing staff housed in the building, which raises concerns about the integrity and competency of care provided. During our final meeting with an administrator, it became clear that Bentley's was not a suitable living situation for my grandfather. The administrator was late to the meeting, failed to greet anyone upon arrival, and only extended a greeting after settling his belongings and speaking with staff. He did not apologize for his tardiness nor open the meeting with a statement. Initially, he used jokes and slang, but became irrational when not receiving the expected responses. He displayed a total disregard and lack of empathy towards our family, refusing to listen to our perspective because it didn't fit his narrative. When asked for his name, he refused, stating it was displayed on the board outside, and claimed he didn't have business cards for contact purposes. However, the front desk revealed his name to be Preston Bentley. Preston's behavior was unacceptable and is a poor representation of a company that claims to “offer a level of care beyond what others could, by treating residents like family in our communities”, as stated on their website.

My mom spent the last few months of her life in this wonderful facility. The staff was awesome caring for her. Linda the activities lady did a great job keeping my mom busy. They came and made sure she was included in all activities if she wanted to which mom did. They even let my brother come with his guitar and play Christmas music which seemed to make all the residents smile and sing along. Mom made so many friends there. There was so much love shared between them. The staff knew each and every one of our family members and greeted us every time we visited. I am thrilled that mom was so well taken care of when we couldn’t do it for her any longer.

My mom is on Medicaid so I have no illusions about fancy care for her. But I’ve been extremely happy with the care she receives at Bentley’s. The home is always clean, residents always look clean and cared for. My mom says the food is good, and they try to have activities to keep the residents engaged. The staff is always friendly and knows my mom and me by sight. Staff has alerted me every time she falls, which is why she went into a home in the first place, and I feel that she is safe and well cared for. No place is perfect, but it is not the horror home that I have seen at other places. I feel great about the care from Bentley’s and their staff!
