My sister has been receiving services from The Lighthouse since it's opening in the Grand Traverse County area. This facility is a gem to all the families and patients it treats, without it the next option is hours away in southern Michigan. Thank you to all staff that work so hard to help my sister succeed in life and be a participant in this community. For the one off bad reviews this business has received I ask that you see for yourself what this facility is like and speak with the staff about services rather than read a review.

In the year 2008 I had a Brain injury that damaged my frontal lobes in the brain. This is where I was sent after my repairs at TC Hospital who put me back together very well. I was there just a few weeks when I experienced a on called for aggression from a staff member that because I had stepped out the door where a group of staff. When this staff came over to me (who was relaxed just looking at the stars} grabbed me and through me on the pavement. I have lost a good part of my brain and I sure did not need having my head hit the pavement!!! Because of this incident they decided I needed to be restricted on my activities. Because I calmly stepped out to see some stars I was treated as threat to everyone. I had no one I could tell what was done to me so I got to suffer several more weeks before being discharged. I have been a direct care worker and manager for many years and I have never seen a reason to through a client on pavement. So I have prayed for years now that this place has changed it ways to care for clients. May GOD BLESS the survivors of this place. In the name of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AMEN .

I have never seen a more unprofessional work environment in my life. Complete lack of respect for workers, constant lies and excuses for seemingly no reason. Coming from a person who knows some workers, I would not suggest this place to anyone unless you enjoy the above treatment because this place doesn’t care about you.

I don't know if the other individuals who rated this place were clients or employees, but coming from a former employee standpoint this place is utterly terrible. Poor/unprofessional management, unrealistic expectations, and a complete lack of respect for entry level employees. When it boils down to employment, this place blows at best.
