I am deeply disturbed by how management at Garden Brook Senior Village has handled the ongoing central AC failure in my apartment. I am 70 years old, and my central air conditioning has been broken since last week while outdoor temperatures have exceeded 95 degrees. My bedroom remains around 86 degrees, and I am sweating and unable to sleep comfortably. Management provided a temporary window AC unit, but it does not cool my bedroom. It is also extremely loud, making it difficult for me to use my living room or kitchen. The unit blocks the only window serving that area. Cigarette smoke from other units regularly enters the hallway and can be smelled inside my apartment, so I normally run two air purifiers and open the window for ventilation. I can no longer open the window while the temporary unit is installed, and I also cannot properly ventilate my apartment while cooking. Despite receiving formal written notice of these conditions, management has still not provided me with a confirmed repair date or time. I was told only that the email had been forwarded to an outside AC company and that management did not know when the technician would come. One manager even stated that they did not know what else could be done. This is a senior living community, yet I have been left in an 86-degree bedroom during extreme heat for nearly a week without a concrete repair plan. The lack of urgency, accountability, and concern for basic resident living condition has been shocking. I have now escalated this matter directly to CONAM. I will update this review if management provides a confirmed repair appointment and resolves the situation promptly.
