My mom is currently a patient at Atlantic Memorial Hospital, and I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care she has received. This has been a difficult time for our family, and the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by the staff have made all the difference. A special thank you to Rocío, our intake nurse. She was so welcoming, patient, and caring from the moment we arrived. Her warmth and professionalism immediately helped put our family at ease. I would also like to recognize Irma, who has taken such wonderful care of my mom. She goes above and beyond every day, helping with her personal needs and even doing her hair. My mom absolutely adores her and often talks about how kind and attentive she is. Knowing that my mom is cared for by someone so compassionate brings our family great comfort. I would also like to thank the doctors for their dedication, expertise, and the attentive care they have provided. We truly appreciate the time they take to explain things, answer questions, and ensure my mom is receiving the best possible treatment. To everyone at Atlantic Memorial Hospital, thank you for your hard work, compassion, and commitment to your patients. We are deeply grateful for all that you do.

This is the best! Nice employees treat you like family. My aunt is here after her hip surgery and she's being treated like a queen.

During my husband’s stay at Atlantic Memorial in Long Beach in February and March 2026, we felt truly safe and well cared for from the moment we arrived late in the evening. The overall quality of care was excellent, and I would confidently recommend this facility to other families looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with genuine concern and respect. The nursing and therapy teams are the heart of Atlantic Memorial. The CNAs and treatment Nurses were consistently kind, respectful, and compassionate in their day-to-day care, and the therapists were exceptional—both highly skilled and deeply encouraging. The therapy services were a real highlight; they didn’t just work on physical progress, they helped restore confidence and hope. Other facilities may have topnotch equipment but those place rely on their equipment to rehabilitate the patients. At Atlantic, you get the personal touch even if you don't have the best technology. Several staff members made such a strong impression that I want to mention them by name (listed in alphabetical order): Amy (therapist), Dave (therapist), Hermes (therapist), Jeff (therapist), Marie (therapist), Meri (activities), Nathaniel (therapist), Paloma (CNA), Sam (therapist), Trevor (therapist), Vanessa (case manager) and Will (administrator). Each of them, in their own way, went above and beyond to make my husband and me feel seen as a person not just a patient/or a bothersome visitor. Whether it was a kind word, a little extra time to explain something, or simply showing up with a smile, their care made difficult days easier. The environment at Atlantic Memorial is remarkably clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The presence of live, well-cared-for plants throughout the facility might seem like a small thing to the average person, but it makes a big difference—they bring warmth and a sense of life into the halls and common areas. It helped the building feel more like a healing place than an institution. Rooms, hallways, and dining areas were kept very clean and felt home-like, which gave us peace of mind. Meals and daily life were generally very good, and there was clear effort to provide enjoyable food and a predictable routine. Staff worked hard to maintain my husband’s dignity and respect, protecting privacy and always involving me in decisions about his care--could it be that I was there every day at the start and end of visiting hours? Whether or not that was the case, I always felt welcomed and supported, and that my input was valued. Like any busy skilled nursing facility, there were times when response to the call light took longer than I hoped, and communication could occasionally have been clearer. However, these issues were far outweighed by the overall quality of care, the warmth of the staff, and the outstanding therapy services. In the big picture, Atlantic Memorial stands out as a place where people work with both competence and heart, and I am deeply grateful for everything they did for my husband.

My parents have been in various facilities over the years. My dad was here during the hight of the pandemic and they had excellent procedures for insuring safety and he never got COVID. When we needed my mom to go to a skilled nursing facility, we chose Atlantic Memorial Healthcare Center because of its location and past experience. The facility is clean, safe and well staffed. 3 ladies in a room, but pleanty of space to sit and visit. My mom got more than enough attention. She loved the staff. The nurses, assistants, PT and OT staff were great. I even witnessed them being nice to really difficult patients without complaining. The only staff we had trouble with was the doctor. He was barely visible. We had trouble with her insurance wanting to send her home too soon and we had to keep filing appeals. When we finally decided to take her to an assisted living home, we saw that the discharge papers from Dr. Issa, included inaccurate information that showed he had no idea who she was or anything about her. It's no wonder her insurance wanted her to go home. (example: my mom has walked with braces for over 10 years. She was there for surgery on a broken femur and still can't walk. Dr. Issa indicated on the discharge paperwork that she has no mobility issues.) Other than Dr. Issa, the rest of the staff are great. Her case worker, Vanessa was especially helpful. She was always very responsive and quick to address our concerns. Having experienced other skilled nursing facilities, I believe Atlantic Memorial Healthcare Center is the best in the area.

It is difficult to find a skilled nursing facility like Atlantic Memorial Healthcare Center. The day my mother was admitted to this healthcare center the staff was welcoming, professional, and truly compassionate. One by one the staff introduced themselves and their roles. They immediately zoom in to my mother‘s needs with tenderness, patient, respect and friendliness. My sister and I was so amazed how the staff paid attention to my mother needs not as a number, but as a human being. My mother is 95 years old with a very strong personality, but they knew how to handle her. From the admission process, Janice, the nursing staff, Ina, Liberty, Rochelle, supervisor Ellen, Director Staff, and all in between, everyone provided outstanding care and took great pride in what they do. I give Atlantic Memorial Healthcare center a five-star rating because this facility's quality of care and performance is outstanding!
