These are actual incidents that happened to individuals at Achor..... that was noted on Neighborhood posts<br>Agree they let my husband smother in his sleep. Fitbit watch said 0% oxygen and no heart rate at 3:18am and didn’t check on him until 7am. (His cannula fell out.)<br>Anchor Rehab is awful. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy! I went there after back surgery. They didn’t have nor would they attempt to get my pain medication. I was there from Wednesday to Saturday morning when my son and daughter in law came to break me out. Anchor was HORRIBLE. Heard women screaming all night. It was almost to the point of traumatizing!<br>sister fell out of the bed repeatedly and they don’t keep any end of life medications in stock . It was traumatizing.

This place is horrible! My BigMa was doing so much better with intentions of being discharged on August 17th, but our worst nightmare came true. The nurses were giving her the wrong meds which caused her health to decline. Now, she will be discharged from Aiken Regional hospital and placed in hospice care. Anchor is to blame for my BigMa dying because of their negligence and malpractice! If you want your love one to live then take them somewhere else instead of Anchor!

Recently had to place my 90 yr old father at the facility post hip surgery. He was there for 2 weeks and most of the time it was a nightmare for him and his family. Thank goodness his family was able to be with him a large majority of the time to assist with his care, because if you pressed the call button it might be over an hour before anyone would check on you. Do to insurance, he has to have a roommate, even though we requested, and were willing to pay the additional fee for a private room. The furniture in the room was coming apart(they were working on replacing, but not soon enough). The only air conditioner( like a hotel room unit) in the room was on his side. We were told we had to keep it at or below 75, so he froze on his side and the roommate roasted on his side.<br>It seemed like they could not keep staff, there were almost always agency nurses working, not consistent staff. We did have one CNA (Elizabeth Marie) that when she was there was very attentive and kind. The food was ok, but sometimes difficult for him to eat. One night dinner did not arrive until almost 10pm. The residents were not told why there was a delay, we ended up bringing my father something to eat because he thought just forgot him, and he never eats that late at night. When I mentioned it to the administrator the next day, she blew it off as a problem with the kitchen. I mentioned that no one communicated with the residents, and her only response was that she would pass it on.<br>During our stay, my father had to go to a follow-up appointment with his surgeon. Anchor arranged for the transfer from the facility to the office. Going was ok, but when our appointment was done we had to call for pick up. After 30 minutes when we still had no pick up, I called again, they said they would be there in about 20 minutes, after 20 minutes, I called again, they were on the way, after another 30 minutes, I called Anchor. Anchor said they would call the transfer company. At the 2 hour mark, the office said they were closing and we had to wait in the office next to them. At about 3 hours and several more calls, I called my spouse to come hep get my father into our car and we transferred him back to the facility. I was furious and went immediately to the administer, who proceeded to tell me it wasn't their fault, they contract with the transport company. We finally were released from anchor after about 2 weeks, and what a relief! I would never put a member of my family back in that facility or recommend anyone to place a loved one there.

Therapy staff was professional, food was decent and facility is clean; nursing staff was disappointing. We were so glad to get our loved one out of there.
