Great place. Where for the most part residents are treated like family members and receive the best care and treatment possible to help rehabilitate them into a better state then they come into the facility. Just like any place has a few things that could be improved on but overall gives the best care for your loved one’s of any facility I have visited. And seem to be constantly trying to fix the small problems and make it feel as close to home as possible. 100% recommend if your love one is looking for there next step in life to be close as home as can be.

My grandmother was recently here. This facility failed to properly care for her, she fell and hit her face and head due to neglect the pictures are posted below. Severe face injuries, Severe shoulder and arm injuries. my grandmother is in CHF and is ordered by her doctor to sleep with a C-PAP machine, this facility failed to adhere the said Doctor's orders. Instead, Her C-PAP machine stayed wrapped with the cord around it underneath her bed. Her day consisted of sitting in a chair facing the wall all or most of Her day. My grandmother begged the staff not to allow Male staff to come into her Room and Undress Her or Wipe her private areas, because she was uncomfortable exposing herself in the presents of the Male staff which isn't Normal practice, Her begs and pleas fell on death ears. Covid outbreaks are through the roof and i can see why because the facility stays unsanitary The adjoined Restrooms my grandmother shared with the other resident was disgusting. Needless to say, we brought her Home. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

A resident from my Assisted Living stayed here for rehab. She came back to us walking and in my CV better shape. Great job from all the employees and physical therapy techs. The nurses were very kind and patient.

My dad was recently in Altoona Health and Rehab. The Staff truly treated him like family. I am so very pleased with everyone at Altoona. My dad passed away on August 21, but he was being cared for by people who cared about him…and they also cared about his family. If you are faced with the difficultly of seeking nursing care or rehabilitation for a parent or loved one, look no further. At Altoona, not only are you given proper care, you are treated as with true love, kindness and respect. Five stars are not enough.
