My family’s experience at Accura HealthCare of North Platte was extremely concerning, and I would strongly caution others before placing a loved one here. My father was admitted with significant medical needs, including a broken hip and shoulder. Some of the most serious concerns included: • He reportedly went over 24 hours without receiving his medications. • After being transferred to the hospital, he was severely dehydrated and required two bags of IV fluids. • Nurses’ notes reportedly documented a 20-minute call light response time. Dr. Allen (his main doctor) was alarmed by this. My father and his roommate both used the call button around 10 PM and no one came to help. • Around 3 AM, after again not receiving assistance, my father attempted to get to the bathroom himself despite having a broken hip. The bathroom call/help button reportedly did not work, and he fell trying to care for himself. • Following the fall, we were told he did not need imaging or re-evaluation because “his blood pressure was okay,” which made absolutely no sense considering the circumstances. • One nurse reportedly did not even know his hip was broken, showing a serious lack of communication between staff members. • He developed a bedsore while under their care. • My family was also given conflicting information regarding paperwork and transfer communication with another facility. The other reviews about staff lying, seem to still be happening. I spoke with Brayden, the Director of Nursing, on 5/7/2026 regarding these concerns and found the response dismissive and unapologetic. I asked which systems are in place to track response times and employee accountability, including the call light tracking and hallway walkie system they reportedly use, but received no meaningful reassurance. She said all tracking was done internally and she would not be sharing that with me. She also stated the nurse wouldn’t know his hip was broken without digging into his chart and his shoulder was the “only” obvious issue. This facility accepted my father as a patient despite seemingly lacking the staffing, communication, and care processes necessary to safely manage his condition. Families deserve transparency, accountability, and safe care for their loved ones. Please go elsewhere when considering care for your loved ones.
