I have been here about 5 times and I keep coming back because the staff is great. I have no complaints about this facility. The therapy team is one of the finest out there. The CNA's are top notch and they really care about the residents. I would suggest Abbotsford Health Care Center to anyone that needs nursing or therapy services.

I greatly enjoyed my stay here. The therapy team was rockstars. The staff accommodated my friends and family which was very nice. I would suggest anyone who needs therapy services to come here.

I have to start by saying I have very little to compare it to . That having been said, the staff is friendly and efficient and their goals and mine coincided...get me home as quickly as possible based on my level of input and cooperation...they can't make a horse drink. Rehab is no fun, but there were a couple of minor things I found disappointing as well. Storage space is at a premium, and my room-mate, who is visually impaired, had much difficulty navigating the cluttered halls. I personally am a carnivore, and the protein and fat at mealtimes was usually lacking...but I suspect that this is a result of state and federal guidelines, more than staff choice. It would help if real Wisconsin butter was made available on request, as the buttery spread is nutritionally questionable. There are also some supply chain issues, as some staple items ran out at times...wipes, ketchup, absorbent underwear were among the items that briefly ran out. All and all, I would recommend this center, because it gets the job done, and that is the bottom line. It is not meant to be an all inclusive Carribean vacation.

All I can say is Thank you to everyone that works here!!! The go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, taken care, and mire than satisfied with your care. They encourage you to get out of your room and get involved in social activities and therapy every day. There is even one worker who brought me clothes that he doesn't wear anymore because I didn't bring any of my own yet!!!!

* * * STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY! * * * I would give zero stars if that were an option! Do not allow your loved ones (hereinafter referred to as "LO") here. Unfortunately, we had no other choice as our LO exceeded the length of stay at the rehab facility prior to Abbotsford Health Care Center (Abbotsford HCC) as per insurance and it was the ONLY facility with available beds. That alone should tell you a lot! Within just the first week at Abbotsford HCC, there were already several issues. Here are some of the issues experienced within the 1st week that continued during the entire length of stay: 1) Horrible food. Our LO refused to eat the food despite hunger. Thus, food was brought from home during visits. Our LO lost weight as a result. 2) Poor hygiene practices. Our LO was not bathed, hair not combed, teeth not regularly brushed, etc. 3) Exercise and therapy were rarely given. Our loved one lost muscle mass because of this. 4) Sanitation wasn't the best. The facility smells, the building is old and outdated. 5) Unpleasant living conditions. The environment is not peaceful. TV's and machines are loud. Our LO had difficulty getting rest and sleep there. 6) Our LO's belonging went missing. Our LO was transferred to Abbotsford HCC along with 5 pairs of clothing and a pair of tennis shoes-- all of which were in great condition as we had purchased them new for our LO only 2 months ago. In just the first few days at Abbotsford HCC, we noticed our LO was put in other patient's clothes (shirt, pants, socks, etc). Clothing that did not fit. When repeated questioned about the whereabouts of our LO's clothes, we were given excuses and no resolution. This went on from the first week and lasted the entire duration of the stay. Even now, after discharge, we are still being given the runaround depsite providing photos of our LO's missing clothes, as was asked from us by Abbotsford HCC. He returned home with just the clothes he was wearing (a t-shirt, pants, and pair of socks, all of which were not his), and his tennis shoes. 7) Lacking in customer service and beside manner. Unfriendly staff and not welcoming to visitors. We were not greeted nor acknowledged. Ignored and had to seek out staff if we had any questions or needed help for our LO. Long wait times, concerns ignored. None of these issues were experienced at any other facility our LO stayed at prior to Abbotsford HCC. Our LO went from a hospital to a LTACH, to a rehab facility, and then to Abbotsford HCC (a skilled nursing facility). At all the other facilities, our LO's health, strength and condition progressed, while at Abbotsford HCC, it either stalled or declined. The lack of quality and care at Abbotsford HCC was especially shocking to us as the length of stay there was the shortest of all the facilities yet it was the one with the most issues. We experienced little to no issues at the prior facilities. Abbotsford HCC claims on its website to be "premier rated" -- please do not believe this lie! Stay clear of this place!
