About A Place Called Home Residential Care

A Place Called Home Residential Care 8 offers assisted living and memory care in Fresno, California, operating 10 small residential homes across five neighborhoods in Clovis and Fresno. Each home is a 6-bed residence located in an established neighborhood rather than part of a larger facility.

The community provides a 1:3 care ratio with two caregivers throughout the day and one awake caregiver overnight, supported by registered nurses available 24 hours a day to direct care or visit homes as needed. Meals are home-cooked from scratch by caregivers, not catered or cafeteria-style. Pricing is structured as a single transparent monthly rate with no surprise level-of-care fees, per-task add-ons, or surcharges as needs change.

The homes are distributed across specific neighborhoods: three homes on the same Clovis street including the original location opened in June 2012, two homes in the Quail Lake area with quiet streets and mature landscaping, one home in Harlan Ranch, one on Montana Avenue near Shaw and Leonard cross-streets in Clovis, and one in northeast Fresno on Paula Avenue near the North Willow corridor.

The community offers a Luxury Living tier consisting of two homes on Powers and Locan that share a private courtyard, featuring a dedicated chef and complimentary personal services. The intentionally small home model allows families to choose among different neighborhoods, settings, and care tiers based on individual needs.

I came to visit a dear friend and was highly impressed with the quality and neatness of the house. The caretaker was friendly and inviting. My friend commented that she’d like to have more activities, as her mind is excellent and she enjoys getting out of her room to be social.

The caregivers maintain excellent awareness of my mother, her needs, and her health status. All the clients are very well cared for and she never has a complaint. The cooking is exceptional, and they will even go so far as to cook the residents favorite foods.
