The Sumter Branch of Visiting Angels was a real benefit and blessing to me in helping to take care of my Mother during a tough time. They really work with the patient's family and communicate well and genuinely care about the patient and the patient's family. They are there to help and communicate. They are tech savvy with an old school work ethic. The caretakers are good, punctual and loyal to the patient. The management is excellent. They are one of the several assets to the Sumter Community. -Glenn Givens, 4/10/2026

The name describes this company well. We learned that we needed round-the-clock home care on a Monday afternoon in December. We reached out to Visiting Angels that evening, met with Derrick on Wednesday, and he had a team in place providing care on Thursday. That care remained in place through the holidays and bad weather until our loved one died a little over seven weeks later. Family members were in the house throughout the period — at times for short, unannounced visits and others for long periods of time planned in advance — which gave us the opportunity to observe the team in action. We found the regular team of caregivers to be exceptionally compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. They worked well with the hospice team that visited regularly. We found Derrick and his management team responsive to any concerns we raised. They listened carefully, made it a point to understand our needs and priorities, and were in regular communication with us. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them.

Visiting Angels came into our lives at a time when we needed extra care for my 93 year old mom. During the first month of visits, she was beginning to have difficulty with mobility. Visiting Angels came a few days each week for several hours which provided her with care and companionship and me with much needed support and help. Just before Christmas, my mom’s health declined. She is now bed bound and in hospice care. The amazing thing is that Visiting Angels continued to care for her providing round-the-clock care even during the holidays. These “angels” were complete strangers who gave up time with their family and friends to come and help my mom-that is truly a Christmas miracle! They were also very kind and patiently taught me how to care for my mom and how to assist her with the activities of daily living (ADL’s). Caregiving is a difficult and rewarding journey. Visiting Angels makes each step just a little easier for the care recipient and the caregiver. If you or someone you love needs a little help, check out Visiting Angels. You won’t be disappointed-they work miracles!

I am sad to be writing this as I am canceling my services with Visiting Angels due to my Grandfather no longer needing them. I say this to say these past several months have been great with the help of Visiting Angels and especially Saundray. The care my grandfather and myself even has been above and beyond. I recommend this service to anyone out there needing the extra help for a loved one. I will keep them on speed dial if anything changes in the further and help is again needed. Yall have been a life saver and I can’t thank you enough.

The folks at Visiting Angels in Sumter SC have been wonderful to my family. They have helped us understand what to expect in the transition from my parents living independently to living with care. The Visiting Angels team has been very receptive to our suggestions and supportive of our family. For my parents, transitioning from strong independent lives - to recognizing the need for external care - has been challenging - and remains that way. The Visiting Angels team has been supportive, understanding, and very helpful as we've worked through this transition. Each time I've called for information or scheduling questions - Visiting Angels has been responsive and helpful. My brothers and I are grateful for the help, support, and thoughtful care that Visiting Angels has provided.
