About A Place Called Home Residential Care

A Place Called Home Residential Care A2 is a family-style assisted living and memory care provider in Clovis, California, operating 10 small homes across five neighborhoods in Clovis and Fresno. Each residence is a 6-bed home in an established neighborhood rather than a wing of a larger facility, allowing families to choose among different settings and care tiers.

The community maintains a 1:3 care ratio with two caregivers throughout the day and one awake caregiver overnight, supported by registered nurses available 24 hours a day to direct care or visit homes as needed. Meals are prepared fresh by caregivers from scratch rather than catered or reheated, and all care is provided under a single transparent monthly rate with no surprise level-of-care fees, per-task add-ons, or surcharges as needs change.

A Place Called Home operates homes across multiple Clovis neighborhoods: three homes on the same street including the original location opened in June 2012, two homes in the quiet Quail Lake area with mature landscaping, one home in Harlan Ranch, and another on Montana Avenue near Shaw and Leonard cross-streets. The community also operates one home in northeast Fresno on Paula Avenue near the North Willow corridor.

The organization offers a Luxury Living tier consisting of two homes on Powers and Locan that share a private courtyard, featuring a dedicated chef and complimentary personal services. All homes are licensed by the California Department of Social Services and designed with attention to detail in both kitchen operations and staffing schedules to reflect how real families live.

David and Colin have created beautiful homes for seniors who can no longer live alone. The residents are well cared for, the food is amazing and the environment is homey. I haven’t seen anything like this.

My daughter came here after almost dying from pneumonia. They helped her recover. They were so kind and helpful. They fixed the food so that she could safely eat as she recovered. As she got better, she loved that they kept fresh cookies available. She likes to go back there regularly and visit the caregivers. The home is beautiful inside and well maintained. I highly recommend A Place Called Home. I told them this is where I want to be when I can’t take care of myself anymore.

A Place Called Home was a bittersweet decision. It saddened me to move my husband from home. But it turned out to really be like “home.” It was so nice and felt so comfortable and loving. It was very well decorated and felt and looked like a home. The caregivers were fabulous and I felt well assured he was under good care. I always felt like it was a family. They always welcomed friends and family when they came to visit. I would highly recommend any home within A Place Called Home community. Thank you David and Colin for being so polite and accommodating for the duration of his stay. Anyone looking for a place to board a loved one should definitely go to A Place Called Home .

When seeking a placement for my loved one, I toured many places in Fresno and Clovis. The homes in this company are all clean and lovely and the staff shared how happy they are. They have taken wonderful, personalized care of my loved one with dementia and offer frequent updates and suggestions and welcome our daily visits with a smile and kindness. I’m grateful to have found the right place for my loved one and encourage anyone looking to consider the homes in this company.

My Dad has moved to three different home cares, and he finally said, this house will be his final move. He loves the food. He feels like he is at a fancy restaurant with the meals they prepare. The room is furnished very nicely. He loves the activities with fellow residents. His caregivers are great and treat him like he is part of their own family. The owner is very accommodating. This is the place where you want to have your parents. You will rest assured your love ones are taken care of.
