My mom had gone to this facility after hospitalization and before coming home. She was excited and hopeful but that was short lived. She did enjoy the activity and bingo groups. The most concerning thing was that in the 2 weeks she actually stayed there, her cell phone charger, 4 pairs of pants, 1 shirt and a book were taken from her room. The staff was informed but most simply said "that happens a lot". That is beyond unacceptable. I will never consider this facility for anyone.

I absolutely recommend this place! My dad had a short residence here and his care from all the fantastic staff I truly will miss! Talia the administrator is absolutely fantastic and got things done and taken care of on the spot. Have any questions? She has all your answers regarding anything with Whitehall Manor! 🙏❤️🙏

I would warn anyone who has a parent/relative with dementia to avoid this place. If your loved one cannot communicate or care for themselves, this is not where you want them. When I arrived I found residents falling out of wheelchairs and ignored, a gentleman laying on the floor eating crumbs off the carpet, the smell of feces in the memory care unit was beyond unbearable, staff who were unable/unwilling to answer questions about medications that were being given to my mother, dark rooms, a "community" room where residents were dumped, ignored, left to stare at the walls, the food was inedible etc. I discovered my mother sitting alone in a dark room in a wheelchair, no pants on, sitting in her own filth, her shirt wrapped around her neck, bruises all over her legs. When I went and got an aide, she took a dry towel and basically smeared the mess everywhere. It was awful to see my mother, who was always immaculate, like this. I'll never forget it. And yes, I have the pictures. She was immediately moved to another facility and examined and they were shocked by the feces under her nails and the bruises. Upon notifying the facility that I'd be removing my mother, I was actually threatened. They said they had a court order, which I demanded to see - there wasn't any. Then they told me the Dept. of Aging had forbidden the removal of my mother. I called them and they said they had no idea what I was talking about but suggested they were trying to keep her there for the money. They then threatened to charge me additional money. I produced the pictures and that was the end of that. Of course when they give the tours of the place, they don't bring them into this part of the facility. They show you a lovely dining room and the other areas. Overall, we as caregivers of parents with dementia are in a terrible predicament. We need help but we are also at the mercy of these facilities. Looking back I would have spent the absurd amount of money these places charge and hired someone to come to the house and care for her. At $6,000-$8,000 a month, I could have hired a full time nurse, cook etc. Keep your parent home if you can, get in house help. Strangers who are overworked, underpaid, have no emotional attachment to your loved one and are often without the watchful eye of family leave your mom/dad vulnerable. This is no way for them to spend their last days/months/years. I wish I could turn back the clock, my regrets haunt me.

Words to not describe how grateful I am for Soulima at Whitehall Manor! She has consistently been responsive to all my concerns regarding my Mom during this exceptionally trying time with the pandemic. Soulima gives me confidence that my Mom’s individual needs are met. I am grateful for the whole staff. My Mom is very content there. She is well taken care of. I highly recommend Whitehall Manor. God bless you all for your sacrifice and dedication.

My Mom was a resident here for over 3 years. She started in independent care but due to dementia transitioned to different levels of memory care. She passed away in February. The owners, care manager (Soulima) & staff worked w/ me & my siblings (4 of us) tirelessly to accommodate all our requests to ensure the best care for our Mom (we called Alex my Mom’s care angel). We were a tough crowd when it came to her care & all of our requests &/or concerns were addressed & met. Pre Covid we visited 3-5 times per week (sometimes more); during covid, WM did everything possible to allow us to see our Mom via FaceTime or through windows with staff using their phones so we could see & talk to her - not easy when your loved one has dementia. Attached is a pic one of the staff took during 1 of our covid visits - we were not aware they captured this moment & sent it to me later in day via text. It is now framed in all 4 of our homes. As the saying goes, “a picture paints a 1,000 words.” I would recommend WM especially if you are a family that wants to be involved & have a lot of input into the care of your loved one. WM cares.
