Horrible,Horrible,Horrible. My Mom’s room had a constant roach problem as did the floor above her. The Director kept cutting the budgets for the basic requirements you’d expect in a Senior Living Facility. The Food they serve was appalling and kept getting reduced due to constant budget cuts. The Activities Staff was overwhelmed due to the many Dementia Residents who needed constant attention pushing the others to the side. You would think a facility that has to tend to the medical needs of so many people would have a licensed nurse on staff. But no, they just have a person who passed the basic nursing test and who can sign paperwork which is all they require. If I needed a nurse for my mother, I talked to one of the residents there who was an actual RN in her past profession. The director is clueless about the people who live there and is selfish, using the money she has in her budget to make the place look nice, when first walking in, instead of spending it on the staff whose job it is to take care of the people living there. By the way she dresses and the car she drives you can tell that she’s not struggling financially. In the end, the way a business is supposed to be run, you would think that she would would be the first one to jump in and help when staff in any department needs a fill-in, but the door to her office is constantly closed and getting her to return a call is like pulling teeth. It doesn’t take much to notice how she treats her staff, and it easily shows that she has her favorites. Some staff will tell you the preferential treatment she gives her favorites while the others, most of whom are the reliable ones, remain overwhelmed and under appreciated. Just sad. They will say anything to get you to put someone in one of their rooms and keep cashing your checks for as long as the money lasts. This is the last home most of these people will have, and it’s a shame that the Director and her Management, allow this to happen to people’s loved ones.

My dad has lived at the Santa Maria Terrace for about 10 years and it has been the best experience for him. Meals, laundry, and room cleaning are all provided. What I really like is how caring the staff is. My dad has good relationships with all the people that help him. He has made good friends among the community as well. My dad still drives and they are great at keeping track of who is out for the day and when they return for the safety of the residents. Some have deeper needs which they provide attention to if needed. There’s always community activities. My dad enjoys the ice cream socials and card games. I love that they can arrange special gatherings for family and friends for birthdays and other celebrations. Always good food and fun on holidays. They can provide transportation for doctors appointments if needed and sometimes arrange transportation to various community events. I am so pleased with the Terrace. I’m so grateful that my dad is among caring staff and is safe and happy.

Staff are amazing and all help take good care of our Dad. I want to specifically mention; Jennifer, Amy, Elsa, Jasmin, Mike and Vanessa. The kitchen staff are too numerous to mention individually but do a great job. The staff that clean the rooms are fantastic. Everyone is friendly. We are very happy with SMT!

The facility is clean, homey, and welcoming! The staff never failed to assist us with the move in for my father Thomas. All were very courteous, compassionate and understood our needs. Michelle was with us every step of the way to help Navigate the paperwork and facility setup. I can't thank them enough for all they did.

1 year and 9 months ago we moved my father, who was 90 years old, and his wife from their home in New Hampshire to Santa Maria Terrace.  They were unable to care for themselves any longer and needed assistance. After looking at several facilities in the area we chose the Santa Maria Terrace which offered everything we were looking for!  They were able to stay together, which was very important to us.  We were able to get a one bedroom on the ground floor which offered a bedroom and a living/eating room attached. My stepmother is a smoker and the Terrace offers a smoking area in the beautiful courtyard. Another necessity was they offer assistance through to the end of life. I especially like their ala carte services where we were able to get the assistance that each of them needed such as medication management, incontinence care, bathing assistance and more. The facility also offers daily activities the residents can participate in. We are a very tight family and felt at home from the very beginning not only with the other residents but the staff as well!  We became even more attached to the wellness/care staff that were there for my father’s final months.  The level of care and honest concern for my father was extraordinary! I would definitely recommend Santa Maria Terrace to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for their aging parents. Coming from New Hampshire my father and his wife really enjoyed the year-round climate that allows them to sit out in the secured courtyard almost every day.
