About Cody Council On Aging

The Cody Council on Aging, also known as the Cody Senior Center, is a community organization established in Park County in 1976 to provide services and programs for seniors in Cody, Wyoming. The center focuses on fostering independence, wellness, and community engagement through a range of activities and support services designed to help older adults thrive.

The organization operates a public transportation system serving seniors up to 10 miles outside Cody's city limits, available between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. A Rolling Meals Program delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors, with volunteer drivers contributing thousands of hours annually to ensure recipients receive at least one meal per day. The center also coordinates Tai Chi, Yoga, field trips, and in-house recreation activities.

The Senior Center offers evidence-based exercise classes, games, bingo on Wednesdays and Thursdays, bridge, dominoes, and painting activities. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and welcomes donations of items for its Thrift Barn, where sales provide unrestricted funding for all programs and services.

Monthly newsletters are posted in the lobby, provided as hard copies, or sent home with meals during the first week of each month, keeping seniors informed about upcoming activities and programs.

They always have some odd little item that I'm looking for and usually they are priced very well. Basically very cheap. I did notice that Google has their times of operation incorrect. They are open 9 to 5 Monday through Saturday and are only closed on Sunday.

Where else can you get a well-rounded, nutritious meal for $4.00?? The staff are always friendly and willing to accommodate. The dining area is always clean. And they have so much more to offer. This is a great asset for our senior citizens.

I know a few people who just about live here meeting new friends, eating a nutritious lunch and playing games. Personally I love their thrift store where you can get pots and pans to clothing that is gently worn- all of which is clean, folded and stored neatly. The prices can't be beat either!
